ENTITY shares information about waist trainerPhoto via Instagram/kimkardashian

When Kim Kardashian posted a photo of herself in a waist trainer on Instagram, the Internet kind of lost it.

We’re pretty much in an age where people will do almost anything Kim Kardashian does, so people started buying waist trainers as if it was the ultimate secret to Kim’s famous body. (Hint: Her secret requires more needles.)

Although it’d be great to be blessed with an hourglass figure after wearing the waist trainer around the house for a couple hours… That’s not exactly how it works.

You still have to work out while wearing the corset.

We know, it sounds awful. Will we ever have a device that will make us thinner without ever having to actually exercise and sacrifice our love for pizza and chocolate? (Probably not.) But while we’re hopelessly waiting for such a device to be created, the waist trainer can give you Kim’s famous hourglass body. But only if you exercise.

Also, here’s the thing: you don’t want to do strenuous exercise while wearing your waist trainer. The corset puts a lot of pressure on your organs and it could do more harm than good if you overuse it. So, doing light exercises are the perfect addition to your waist trainer.

Need some workouts to get started? We have you covered.

1 Pilates/Yoga

Pilates and yoga are easy, light exercises that won’t tire you out too quickly. This will help you maintain core strength while wearing the waist trainer.

2 Jumping jacks/push ups

Spending half an hour doing light exercises such as jumping jacks, push ups, sit ups and squats are also ideal for the waist trainer. But at the same time, don’t overdo it. We can’t stress this enough.

Take your time and don’t wear yourself out since the corset may make it harder to breathe while exercising.

3 Weight lifting

Remember, you don’t want to go all out with this workout, but doing light exercises with weights can be helpful.

We suggest the dumbbell side bend, standing core stabilization, bow extension and reverse dumbbell chop. These workouts are easy and focus mainly on the core. You can maximize the results from your waist trainer by spending about four minutes on each exercise.

4 Light run/walk

It’s not safe to go on an intense run while wearing a waist trainer, but a light jog or walking for an hour can help you lose weight while wearing your waist trainer.

5 Ab workouts

If you want Kim K’s coke bottle figure without losing your muscles, focusing on ab workouts is extremely important. Exercises such as the Russian twist, side plank, bicycle crunches and alternate heel touchers can help tighten your midsection.

Remember, though, the waist trainer isn’t a permanent solution to a perfect hourglass figure. It shouldn’t be abused, but using it alongside workouts could be a good start to teaching you how to keep your core tight while exercising.

But you know what they say – weight loss is really 80 percent diet, 20 percent workout. Take care of your body and it’ll take care of you!
