Since Zoo (CBS) season three is right on our heels, it’s probably best to re-situate ourselves back into the wild world. The first question that needs an answer: What did the aardvark say to the taxi driver? The second question that needs an answer: Who saved our beloved Mitch and what are their plans for him?

In Billy Burke’s (Mitch’s) interview with TVLine, he gave many details about the villain’s identity, a woman named Abigail Westbrook, and what her goal could be — probably world domination (same old, same old).

After reading this interview we were torn. A part of us feels indebted to Abigail because she saved Mitch. I mean, what would “Zoo” be without its genius scientist? However, this woman clearly has bad intentions for the Scooby gang and the world. So now here we are at a crossroads. Hate her because she plans to end the world or love her because she kept our favorite character from dying?

After we gather the information for everything we know about this season three’s new villain, maybe the answer will be a little clearer.

1 She Expanded the Hybrid Problem.

So the hybrids were always an issue. Case in point, they mauled three different people in the span of one episode. Now, Abi West has taken it upon herself to expand the dangers they already posed to the dwindling human population.

She’s not only made it possible for them to get to the mainland where the humans are, which probably has something to do with the sabertooth causing volcanic eruptions and thereby expanding land. However, she’s also creating new and more fierce hybrids. One, in particular, being a cross between a woolly mammoth and a crazy rhino. A monster the Scooby gang will definitely come across at some point in this season. Joy.

2 She is Sadistic and Insane.

We’ve kind of already covered this with the first item on the list. I highly doubt anyone who would go to these great lengths wouldn’t enjoy inflicting pain on others. Not to throw shade at Dr. Oz, but anyone who decides genocide is the answer cannot be sane in the first place. However, in his defense, geniuses tend to be crazy in some way. Abigail’s way just involves killing all man-kind in a violent, depressing manner.

Apparently, she has no sob story that has made her this way. She also doesn’t have much of a valid reason to want to inflict pain on the human race. She simply… enjoys it.

3 She has Some Connection to Jackson.

TVInsider hinted that she would be connected to Jackson in some way as well. This statement was pretty ambiguous because it didn’t necessarily explain how. Abigail could be a long lost Aunt trying to finish her brother’s (Dr. Oz’s) mission. She could have had a role in Jackson’s new superhuman abilities (i.e. faster, stronger, etc.).

Or the connection could simply be that she worsens Jackson’s living situations on purpose. Maybe she has heard about him and wants to take away his will to fight for good. Who knows. What we do know is that with “Zoo’s” track record, it will be something scandalous.

4 She’s Played by Athena Karkanis.

Karkanis has an extensive background in entertainment, whether it’s live action or animation. She’s most known for her role as Octavia in “The Expanse,” where she acted as Detective Miller’s (the male lead’s) former partner at Star Helix Security.

She’s done plenty of other roles in television as well, such as “Suits” and “The Lottery,” but the constant in each role was her ability to perfect them. I don’t doubt she’ll act like the greatest, sadistic psychopath there has even been.

5 She Wants to End the World.

As stated earlier, her end goal is world domination. Well, we’re assuming it’s world domination. We highly doubt she’ll be willing to kill herself along with every other human… unless she’s that crazy.

All we know for sure is that her goals for the future do not include the human race. Therefore, the Scooby gang will have to get to her as soon as possible, before she’s successful in her mission. She has her own smarts and will have the intelligence from Morgan. If Jackson and the crew don’t act quickly, there will be no world left to save.

Although the Zoo cast and crew are keeping their big bad under wraps, with the little information we do have we know season three will be a treat. It promises nonstop action and a season just as exciting as the last.
