Entity shares why we love the acapella app.

With “Pitch Perfect 3” meant to hit theaters later this year, we just know that the Acapella App will be a big deal again. If you’re not familiar with the app, what have you been doing — living under a rock?

All right, that’s a little harsh. But honestly, what have you been doing? The Acapella App is only one of the greatest inventions ever to hit the App Store. Basically, with the app you take care of everything.

If your dream was ever to be the lead vocals, back-up vocals, guitar player and be on the drums — well, it’s your lucky day. The Acapella App gives you the opportunity to do all of that.

iPhone or Android? It doesn’t matter.

Also, it doesn’t matter if you’re on an Android or an iPhone. Both are able to download the app. Just be prepared to have people yell at you for singing at the top of your lungs. Because you’re not going to want to stop.

When the app first launched in 2015 it took Twitter by storm. Everyone was making videos of their favorite songs. There were videos to the classics, like “Suavemente” by Elvis Crespo. But the greatest part were the videos that took us back to our childhoods, with theme songs from shows we used to watch, etc.

So, how does it work?

A great upside to the app is that it’s simple and free. Basically, how the app works is you film different videos of you singing. After that, the videos get layered and BAM. You just covered a song and became a harmonizer all in one.

Who’s behind this genius idea?

The creator of this app is Mixcord. Their co-founder Daniel Vinh told Buzzfeed that they’re a data-driven company, so they noticed the trend of people using their app PicPlayPost to create a cappella songs. So they decided to build off of that idea and create the Acapella App. “We don’t make apps just for the sake of making them,” Vinh says of the app, which quickly gained popularity.

Be prepared! It’s making a comeback.

So, later this year be prepared to pull out the Acapella App again. In the meantime, head over to Twitter or Instagram and check some out. They’re pretty hilarious. Maybe you’ll even give it a shot.
