Britney Spears is a legend, no doubt. The “…Baby One More Time” pop star has made quite a name for herself.

Whether you are a fan or her music or not, you have to admit she has talent.  Britney Spears’ music career hasn’t always been rainbows and sunshine. Don’t you remember that 2007 incident?

Here at ENTITY we like to highlight women’s accomplishments and give their stories a voice. Britney Spears is definitely a Woman That Does.

So to honor her legacy, we want to give you a inside look at Britney Spears’ life and career.

Before becoming the superstar that she is today, Britney was rejected by three major record labels. Their reason? There would never be anyone else like Madonna or Celine Dion. They also said they we’re looking for pop bands like the Spice Girls and the Backstreet Boys.

So what did Britney do? She joined an all-girl group called Innosence.

After receiving some success from that, she was finally signed to Jive Records. And as you may have guessed, she became a worldwide icon soon after that.

Britney isn’t one who gives up. Good for her!

2 She’s sold millions of records.

Britney Spears sold more than 100 million singles and 100 million albums. She is among some of the best-selling artist of all-time.

And on top of that, she has sold more than 33 million digital downloads in the United Stated alone.

Britney was named Forbes highest paid female musician of the year in 2012, earning $58 million.

3 She’s an award-winning artist.

In Britney’s lifetime, she has won a number of awards.

Some of the awards include a Grammy Award, six MTV Video Music Awards plus an MTV Lifetime Achievement Award and ten Billboard Music Awards. Billboard magazine even honored her with the Billboard Millennium Award.

We wonder how many shelves were needed to hold all those awards.

4 Britney is in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Britney broke the record … and it has nothing to do with music.

From 2005 to 2008 – and many more years after that – her name was the most popular search term on Yahoo. This got her a page in the Guinness World Records book.

5 Britney is a philanthropist.

Not a lot of people know that Britney is a philanthropist. She has funded many foundations, including The Britney Spears Foundation for helping children in need and The Britney Spears Camp for the performing arts, which helps kids develop their talents.

Britney continues to give back to a lot of charities and has fundraised money for causes like Artists Against AIDS Worldwide.

She recently raised $1 million to open a new facility for Nevada’s Childhood Cancer Foundation.

“There are many things I’ve done in my career that I am proud of, but none more than this,” she said in a statement talking about the Childhood Cancer Foundation. “The fact that I was able to use my celebrity status to raise the money to build this incredible facility to help sick children and their families when they need it the most not only brings many tears to my eyes, but really brings tremendous meaning to this amazing journey that I have been on.”

6 She has a Las Vegas show, “Piece Of Me.”

With all of her success, it’s not surprising she got a three-year deal for her show “Piece Of Me” in Las Vegas. The show ends on December 31st, and Britney is not ready to say goodbye.

Britney said in a statement, “As I prepare to say goodbye to ‘Piece of Me,’ I had no idea how magical this experience would be,” she says. “Having my fans from around the world come see my show has been amazing. I love Las Vegas and will miss performing this show.”

“Piece Of Me” has already passed the $100 million mark in terms of revenue, according to Billboard.

7 She regrets some of her wardrobe choices.

We’ve all had moments where we look back at some of our wardrobe choices and think, “Why did I ever wear this?” This doesn’t just happen to us, it also happens to Britney Spears.

But how can a fashion icon regret an outfit? Well, Britney says she regrets the outfit she wore to the Billboard Music Awards in 2000.

“I wore this orange hat and orange bra and orange booty pants and purple fishnets. Oh, and I had an orange jacket on,” she said. “I actually thought I looked hot at the time. But, um, I definitely stood out. People were talking about it, but not in a good way.”

It’s okay Britney, we all make bad choices sometimes. Regardless, we love you and celebrate you as a true Woman That Does!
