ENTITY reports on Carrie Fisher's unbreakable bond with her mother, Debbie Reynolds, as seen at the 2015 SAG Awards.Debbie Reynolds and daughter Carrie Fisher

Earlier this week the world lost two icons – and famous mother/daughter duo – Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds. The latter passed away from a stroke just one day after her daughter died from cardiac arrest.

The devastating loss comes just ahead of the pair’s upcoming HBO documentary, “Bright Lights: Starring Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds,” which will now air on the network on January 7.

HBO Documentary Films President Sheila Nevins described the movie for Variety as “a love story.” She added, “They just loved each other so much. The bond was just unbreakable.”

And indeed the pair seemed incredibly close, as in the days since they have passed interviews, appearances and written works have surfaced in which they can be seen gushing about each other and their strong bond.

Many are revisiting the hilarious and heartfelt speech Fisher gave in 2015 when presenting her mother with the Life Achievement honor at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. “Reynolds has been more than a mother to me, not much, but definitely more,” she had joked.

Reynolds’ 2013 autobiography “Unsinkable” has also made headlines in recent days, as in it she wrote that her “greatest fear” was outliving her children. The book also read, “It’s not natural to outlive your child … Too many mothers have lost their children, for thousands of different reasons. I don’t know if I could survive that.”

And in fact TMZ reported that Reynolds’ last words – before her stroke, just one day after daughter Carrie’s death – were “I miss her so much. I want to be with Carrie.” Her son, Todd Fisher, revealed that only 15 minutes after sharing her grief, Reynolds suffered her fatal stroke.

The publication also shared that Fisher and Reynolds will be buried side by side at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Burbank, California. They will reportedly have a joint funeral next week, with a public memorial to follow.
