The show first premiered in 2014 and it quickly became a hit that has continued for four seasons. The reality series follows the lives of a group of young millionaires and their “struggles” as rich kids.

This series helped Dorothy to build a social media platform with more than 900,000 followers starting out as a real estate agent in season one and then moving on to develop her own jewelry line.

3 FABULUXE

Dorothy Wang ventured into her entrepreneurial side by creating simple and trendy necklaces incorporating her famous hashtags. Her business smarts come from watching her dad in the real estate industry, which has enabled her to make something of herself.

She stated that she has had the luxury of taking her time to choose her career path, and now she’s coming out with a bang!

She uses the term “funemployed” to describe herself to her social media followers. She explains that it doesn’t mean being unemployed and fun, it means that you enjoy doing your job and being passionate about what you’re doing. She continues to market herself through Instagram, modeling for magazines and doing interviews.

She very often states that her parents instilled in her the importance of family values and giving back. Throughout her childhood, Dorothy travelled to China to raise funds for orphanages and schools, making her the youngest Goodwill Ambassador of the Nanjing Charity League at age 12. She even donates proceeds of her closet sales to UNICEF.

“I guess people are always surprised how relatable and how down to earth and humble I can be. For us, our money is more of a backdrop. Viewers are going to see past the money and get to know us and hopefully love us and want to be friends with us and be able to relate with us… I want to be remembered for having a kind heart and strong head on my shoulders,” says Wang.

Dorothy Wang has made a name for herself with little help from her billionaire father. He didn’t even know about her roles in “Rich Kids of Beverly Hills” and “Famously Single” until she had to sign the contracts.

She was able to carve her own path and be a model for all Asians and Asian Americans who want to be or are in the entertainment industry.
