Entity offers advice on how to encourage the people in your life.

There is always that one person in our lives who has made a difference or guided us in our process of getting where we are today. In our speeches, we always thank and attribute our successes to those who have supported us, cared for us and been our biggest inspirations. To keep that flow of good energy going, here is how to elevate and inspire people around you.

1 REFRAIN FROM COMPLAINING.

This is a small yet effective change to make because it transforms how someone views your character. Complaining and bearing negativity can place a lot of weight on a person, which can drastically affect their mood and emotion not only towards you, but also towards their outlook on the day. Stay positive with your words and you will find that your day and your peer’s day will be brighter and more productive. Natural Healing News says, “Complaining is very contagious. It spreads, and it brings others around you down.”

2 LEAD BY PERSONAL ACTION AND OUTLOOK.

Leading by example will inspire those around you to strive for the same. When you are enthusiastic, trustworthy and caring, people are more likely to put trust in you and believe in your methods.

3 OFFER A SUPPORT SYSTEM.

Increase your availability and make sure your peers know that you are always willing to be there for them. Showing that you have the ability to be reliable will make your peers feel like they have a platform to reach for their goals. Make a point to keep promises, become an active listener and provide constructive criticism. All of these things add up and will help elevate those around you.

4 GIVE SMALL ACTS OF KINDNESS.

Whether it’s just a greeting, a smile or small compliment, being kind towards others can make a large difference in their days. Kindness shows that you are a considerate person, and caring for others will definitely increase your personal mood positively as well. Marilyn Price-Mitchell, Ph.D, says in her book, “The Moment of Youth,” “People who are kind and compassionate are usually the most successful.”

5 SHOW AMBITION.

Aim high and set big goals to demonstrate to others that they can too. Staying true to who you are as a person while tackling those milestones will show others that their personal goals are reachable as well.

6 EMBRACE VULNERABILITY.

It is important to be open to new ideas and to show that you are not perfect. Let it be known that you had to overcome many obstacles and adversities to reach where you are today. Even then, each day poses a new challenge, but you are ready to take them head on. Share your successes and your failures and always acknowledge the circumstances of others.

7 TREAT OTHERS WITH EQUALITY.

Never show favoritism and never discriminate based on identity. See the love and ambition in everyone because everyone’s goals are just as important. The Chron says that the first step to treating others equally is “responding to everyone’s needs and concerns promptly regardless of their position.”

8 ILLUMINATE THEIR STRENGTHS.

The most crucial thing is to not make this goal about you but rather to see the potential in others and help them realize it too. Challenge them to reach higher and become more ambitious. Help them in their journey of becoming who they want to be.
