An Entity Academy graduate shares her favorite activities during the mentorship program.

My time in the Entity Mag mentorship was filled with some great adventures. From visiting The Broad to having an incredible speaker series, everything was fascinating.

However, having to narrow down all the activities to just one favorite is incredibly difficult. And that’s why I am cheating the system a little bit and choosing a few of my favorites.

A pilot for the day:

One of my favorite activities was flying a plane. That in itself was an insane experience. In addition, I am terrified of heights and not the biggest fan of planes. However, when I first started the mentorship program, I explained to our CEO Jennifer that I wanted to take opportunities that I was given and fly with them. I am so happy I decided to go through with this.

Our pilot was incredibly kind and reminded us to have fun. I appreciated that he was patient with my nerves and explained that he was going to be there the entire time. It also helped when he explained how a plane flies. In addition, we flew the plane right by Dodgers Stadium and the Hollywood sign. Dodgers Stadium is one of my favorite places in the entire world, and it was awesome seeing it from high above.

Speaker Series:

Another one of my favorite activities during the Entity Mag mentorship was the speaker series. The speaker series brought in different professionals from their respective industries to chat with us about their experiences. Some of my favorites included former E! Entertainment Programming President Lisa Berger, professor Dr. Richard Matthews, Matchmaker Alessandra Conti and Sandy Golinkin.

Some speakers spoke to the mentees about lessons they learned and what they would’ve done differently. Other speakers talked to us about where they currently are in their careers and how they got there.

The speaker series was an incredible opportunity to interact with professionals. In addition, I appreciated how it was a time to soak up some of the passion they have. When someone has so much passion for what they do, it seriously rubs off in the best way.

Moreover, it was a great time to ask questions. All the speakers who came to speak at Entity genuinely wanted to answer our questions. The best part of it all was the networking aspect that we had.

The Gratitude Circle of Life:

Lastly, another one of my favorite activities was the gratitude circle. The Entity Mag mentees truly bonded in this circle. This was our opportunity to say what we were thankful for. Some mentees spoke about their families and friends, meanwhile, others spoke about things in their personal lives.

This was one of my favorite activities because it allowed us to bond. Everyone has to remember that most of us began the Entity Mag Mentorship as complete strangers. Being in a circle and saying what we’re thankful for was special. It showed us what was valuable to each other.

At the end, we saw that we’re young women who value the same things. Friends and family are the most important things to us. Then, our careers come second.

I am so thankful for my time spent at Entity Mag. One of my hopes is that Entity Mag continues to be a place of empowering and embracing young women.

I loved my time here. Moreover, I hope that Entity’s doors stay open for a long time to come.
