ENTITY reports that Noah Cyrus is following in her big sister Miley's footsteps.

The new track by Noah Cyrus may be called “Make Me (Cry),” but big sis Miley insists she shouldn’t let the haters destroy her.

The 16-year-old’s rising fame has prompted Miley to offer Noah some advice as she enters the family business: grow thicker skin.

“Miley always says, ‘Don’t ever look yourself up or read your comments, ’cause you’re gonna see stuff that you don’t want to see,'” Noah told Rolling Stone. “That’s the best advice ever.”

Based on Miley’s quote, stardom may mean ignoring negative feedback for your own emotional stability. In fact, celebrity status may shift an individual’s approach to emotion to accommodate his or her new spot in the limelight.

A 2009 celebrity study in the Journal of Phenomenological Psychology explored the repercussions of fame. Researchers Donna Rockwell and David C. Giles interviewed 15 anonymous celebrities for their sample.

The four phases discovered were love/hate, addiction, acceptance and adaptation. Initially, newly famous individuals crave their fame and this craving often turns into a high that they yearn for. After a while, though, they usually understand the drawbacks of their celebrity status and deal with this new reality.

Yet lingering consequences also included loss of self, mistrust and demanding expectations. While fame impacts every celebrity differently, Miley, 24, has likely faced most of these phases during her years in the spotlight.

Miley’s roller coaster experience with fame might be correlated to her controversial chapter in the public eye post-“Hannah Montana.” Lending these “thick skin” words of wisdom to her little sister may help Noah navigate the waters of fame better than Miley.

Noah’s music career is taking off after years hidden from her famous family’s spotlight. Her recent single, featuring UK R&B songwriter Labrinth, recently went viral on YouTube. Though she holds her own with her impressive vocals, the comparison to Miley is hard to skirt past.

“We’re going to be told that we sound alike,” she told Billboard. “I’ve been expecting that. It doesn’t take me by surprise, and it doesn’t bother me.”

With only one single under her belt, it’s hard to tell the trajectory of Noah’s career. Miley’s influence may prompt Noah to imitate her big sister’s outcries to her celebrity status – or it may steer Noah clear of any mistakes Miley made in the spotlight.
