Entity shares five moments from the Game of Thrones season premiere that made us say why?

The “Game of Thrones” premiere on Sunday was like what most “Game of Thrones” premieres are like. There were a couple of awesome things and then A LOT of exposition.

For the most part, the premiere left fans sated and ready for more “Thrones.” But there were definitely a few things in the episode that left the audience wondering why.

1 The Death of House Frey

Arya Stark’s single-handed slaughter of an entire house is without a doubt one of the best things that I’ve seen on “Game of Thrones.” It certainly makes sense from a character standpoint that Arya (Maisie Williams) just decided to pull House Frey up by the root.

But I found myself wondering what the death of House Frey means for the rest of the players in “GoT.” Will the women of House Frey take up the mantle? Will there be conflict of House Frey’s holdings in the Riverlands? Who knows. But I’m excited to find out.

2 Ed Sheeran’s Cameo

Cinnamon Roll that the world does not deserve, Ed Sheeran quit Twitter after receiving an onslaught of nasty comments about his “Game of Thrones” premiere cameo. First: Do not be mean to Ed Sheeran. Second: I get why people were confused.

I personally wasn’t taken out of the plot by Ed. But putting one of the world’s biggest musicians in your TV show might take your audience out of the fantasy world. He’s so recognizable that I knew it was him the second he started singing. Thank you, Ed, for your angel voice. Don’t let the bullies get you down!

3 Jorah At the Citadel

Jorah’s scaly hand popping out of that slit in the Citadel chambers made a guy I was watching the premiere with scream. While it did not affect me in such a visceral way, I, too, was surprised by Jorah’s presence in OldTown. The “Game of Thrones” premiere was full of “Where are they nows.”

And it makes sense that Jorah (Iain Glen) would go to OldTown seeking a cure. I guess I just wasn’t expecting him to show up there the way that he did. Poor Jorah. This is what happens to men that don’t listen when women say they’re not interested.

4 Leather Daddy Euron Greyjoy

Not only did Euron (Pilou Asbæk) turn up in the “Game of Thrones” premiere with a fleet of ships built in record time, he also had a new haircut and wardrobe. If I saw someone walking down the street in that getup tomorrow, I wouldn’t blink an eye.

He hasn’t quite shaken the look of being wet all the time (That can’t be good for your skin, Euron), but the man has certainly cleaned up. Cersei (Lena Headey) doesn’t generally go for the anti-preening fellow, but if Euron brings back that gift that he promised her, he just might have his chance. Let me borrow that jacket sometime, Euron.

5 Gratuitous Chamber Pot Sloshing with Sam

We all know Sam (John Bradley) sailed to OldTown in the hopes of helping his Wolf-Dragon bud, Jon Targaryen (Kit Harrington). But considering the order of the Maesters didn’t even know that his predecessor, Aemon Targaryen (Peter Vaughan), was dead, Sam was off to a rocky start. We were treated to what seemed like cut after cut of Same cleaning up after ailing members of the Citadel.

It didn’t seem to propel or benefit the story at all. There were only three bits of Sam’s story we needed to see. The restricted book section, the autopsy and Jorah. It was tantamount to torture for viewers already agonizing over the shorter season. Someone literally started beat boxing during it. It was hilarious.

A lot may be unknown about this coming season of “Game of Thrones,” but one thing’s for sure: They’re not done surprising us.
