Although Geena Davis’ “Beetle Juice” character Barbara always said that, Davis seems to be doing much better than her fictional counterpart. For one, Davis is very much alive. Not to mention, she’s also an actress, producer, writer and model. She can pretty much do everything.

1 Geena Davis’ Movies and Television Shows

Geena Davis has been in the film industry for more than 35 years. She started her career with her first film, “Tootsie” (1982), but became widely recognized when she landed the role of Barbara in “Beetle Juice” (1988).

Other films that have been a part of her success includes, “Thelma & Louise” (1991), “Cutthroat Island” (1995) and all three of the “Stuart Little” movies.

And to add onto her repertoire, Geena Davis moved from film to television in 2005. She landed the lead role in “Commander in Chief” as Mackenzie Allen, the first female president of the United States. Her role in this show earned her a Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series Drama, and it was well deserved.

2 She’s a mother of three.

Geena has been married four times and is now married to Reza Jarrahy. The couple has been married since 2001 and have three children together.

Geena Davis had her first child when she was 46 years old, proving that it’s never too late to start a family. She has a 15-year-old daughter Alizeh, and two 13-year-old twin boys, Kaiis and Kian.

3 Her Former Modeling Career

Geena Davis has always been one of the tallest girls in her school. At 6 feet fall, she’s also one of the tallest actresses in Hollywood.

But thanks to her height and beauty, she was able to work as a model before starting her acting career. She worked at Ann Taylor while trying to get a job with a modeling agency. Geena eventually signed with the Zoli Agency and became a Victoria’s Secret catalogue model.

Which was awesome for her because this was the job that actually helped her land her first acting gig. “I got the part in my first movie, “Tootsie,” partly because I had been a Victoria’s Secret catalog model,” Geena told Us Weekly.

4 She’s an advocate for Gender Equality in Media.

She found the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media to support gender balance and decreasing female stereotypes in entertainment, especially in children’s programming. “Kids need to see entertainment where females are valued as much as males,” said Geena Davis in a Geena Davis Institute video.

She’s also a partner of UN Women. Davis and the UN analyze the stereotypes of women in international media. UN Women created this partnership with the hope of having a positive influence in changing how females are portrayed.

5 Where is Geena Davis now?

Geena Davis is 61 years old, and continues to to amaze us with her work in television and film.

We saw Geena Davis as a guest star on the 10th season of ABC’s medical drama “Grey’s Anatomy,” where she graced us with her performance as a doctor with an inoperable tumor.

She’s also been a part of the FOX series, “The Exorcist,” which returned with its second season on Sept. 29, 2017. If that show isn’t for you, you can also see Geena in the new sci-fi film, “Marjorie Prime,” which released on Aug. 2017.
