Sage, The Principled Pacifist (INFP)

Introverted, Intuition, Feeling, Perceiving

Overview

As The Principled Pacifist, Sages often seek harmony between themselves and others. They are imaginative and big, sky-high dreamers, who lead with their heart.  They are loyal to their ideas and often finds rules and structures confining. A Sage knows possibilities are limitless, and impossibilities can be dreamed through with their profound passion for knowledge. They see the potential for better times ahead, and heavily pursue truth and meaning with their own unique touch, flower crown in tow! Making up only 4.4 percent of the global population a Sage is relatively rare to come across!

Well Known Sages: Princess Diana, Audrey Hepburn, Tori Amos, Chloe Sevigny, Helen Keller, Virginia Woolf, Vincent Van Gogh

Strengths

Sages are sensitive, caring and compassionate, and are deeply concerned with the personal growth of themselves and those around them. They are often non-judgemental, very open-minded, empathetic, and totally completely themselves. Sages believe that each person has their own truly inspiring path to follow. They enjoy spending time exploring their daydreams and want others to follow their bliss as well. Sages are creative, artistic and likely to find great joy and skill in creative outlets. Since they are so open to possibilities they often see the world from unconventional perspectives, making them great writers and artists.

Common Strengths: Idealistic, Extremely Creative, Passionate, Open Minded, Dedication, Hard Working, Flexible, Democratic

Weaknesses

Sages are accepting and nonjudgmental in how they treat those around them, believing that everyone should be able to live freely and truly how they dream themselves to be. However, Sages can be too flexible and too accommodating, and can sometimes be stepped over or taken advantage of by more aggressive personalities. It is definitely amazing the way Sages help others; however, Sages must also learn how to play it cool if their values are being challenged. Sages 11/10 hate being told there's only one way to fix something and react strongly against “My way or the highway”-type people.

Due to their empathetic nature, these Principled Pacifists can often feel like the weight of the world is on their shoulders and it can be too much to bear. In these instances, Sages might retreat inwards (they are introverts after all) and become isolated. A Sage must remember that when it all feels like too much they must make an active effort to rejoin the world.

Common Weaknesses: Dislike of Tedious Info, Taking Things Too Personally, Impractical, Too Idealistic, Taken Advantage Of

Romantic Relationships

Sages are nurturing, empathic and honest partners. Sages select their partners with extreme vetting, looking only for the personalities that are truthful, honest and loyal. Sage partners are very self-aware and at times, self-critical.

Sages tend to be open-minded and accepting of their loved ones’ behavior and needs, as long as their partners aren’t trying to pull a fast one and deceive Sages. For as sweet and quiet as Sages can be, they are pretty knowing and self-aware. So they can tell when something strange is going on. Sages support their partner’s quirkiest habits, and probably love the fact that their date is obsessed with astrology or parkour!

As The Principled Pacifist, Sages look for ways to compromise with their lovebirds and can come up with truly creative ways to problem solve interpersonally. Sages are tenderhearted, so they must learn in relationships to not take rejection too personally. Their sweetness and nurturing perspective are what makes them amazing partners.

Friendships

Friends of Sages know how caring, supportive and adaptable she is. Sages don’t set strict rules for friendship and often go with the flow. Conflict is only necessary when Sages feel their friends have taken steps way too far out of bounds, betraying their trust. Sages love to nurture the creativity and expression in their friends and want to shine a light on their brightest and most carefree traits and desires.

Friends of Sage find that she’s truly the BFF they’ve always dreamed of since she’s so supportive and can sometimes for better or worse put her friends’ problems above her own. Overall, Sages are true, honest, caring and creative friends who enlighten those around them.

Career Path & Workplace Habits

Sages aren’t driven by money or power, they prefer work that both creatively fulfills themselves and their values. Sages are typically more motivated by dreams and inspiration over facts or figures and want to work on projects that fill them with joy and greater understanding of themselves and the world.

Sages are amazing co-workers when it comes to helping solve complex problems with dreamy, forward-thinking solutions. Sages love to innovate and gain great satisfaction by being around personalities of all types that strive for constant improvement. A Sage’s ideal career path is that of an artist, teacher or even a writer. It has to be a career path that fosters their autonomy and desire to please and nurture creatively.
