A round of applause for Julie Pace, the hard-hitting journalist for the Associated Press (AP) who has been distributing real news about the ever-exhausting U.S. government.

AP announced her promotion, and as her Twitter bio reads, she is: “Washington Bureau Chief for The Associated Press. Nine year survivor of the White House beat. Proud Northwestern grad. Long-suffering Bills fan.” We know she has a great sense of humor as well as strong qualifications to manage and lead the AP newsroom.

At only 35 years old, she is impressively already an experienced reporter. Her new promotion gives her the power of coordinating the AP reporting staff to investigate and cover stories in order to spread the news to other media outlets.

And she won the Oliver S. Gramling award for journalism, AP’s highest internal honor, for her analyses of the 2016 election.

5 She was married in 2014.

Fun facts about her personal life: Julie Pace married Michael William Ferenczy, Ph.D. in 2014. He is a senior associate at McKinsey & Company, a global management consulting firm.
