What are you going to do with your extra 24 hours?
Leap Day isn’t an official holiday and there aren’t any official celebrations or traditions.
But since it only happens once every four years, it should be a pretty big deal. So far, there are movies, TV episodes and even a Leap Day game dedicated to the day.
What is this leap Leap Day game, you ask? Well, it’s an Apple and Android application that you can download on your phone for free.
In the game, you use just tap your screen to make your character jump from one floor to the next, while avoiding enemies and spikes. To complete a level, each player has to reach a Gold Cup. New levels are released each day, but if a level isn’t played the day it’s released, then that level gets locked.
While the game doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with Leap Day, a lot of users seem to genuinely love the game.
One reviewer can’t seem to get enough of the Leap Day game. The user wrote:
“The game has me coming back every day to try every new level and challenge myself to solve its puzzles and it’s amazing. But it crashes often enough where it becomes a little frustrating. If they were to fix that, this game would be perfect. I already recommend[ed] this game to all my friends, we all play it together and [it] is a blast.”
But because this isn’t a Leap Day-specific game, we decided to come up with a few games of our own.
You can also take a shot every time something weird happens on the episode because something weird always happens on “30 Rock.”
What better way to honor this day than to get together with friends and make a drinking game out of the show? The Leap Day episode of “30 Rock” is probably the best “30 Rock” episode anyway, so you can’t go wrong with watching the show.
The trampoline park in Woodland Hills has trampolines from the floor to the ceiling. You can literally leap on these trampolines. Get it?
You may not be leaping, but hopping is close enough. The drunker you get, the more you’re going to mess up so… be careful.
The prize can be anything from cash to a free dinner. You can also just make the loser drink a nasty smoothie of only condiments. Basically, get creative with the punishments and take this any way you want to.
If you don’t play leap frog on Leap Day, did Leap Day really happen? You can bend the rules of this game to make it as fun as possible for you and your friends. For example, the winner can win a prize or the loser has to take a shot.
The beauty of Leap Day is that there aren’t any set celebrations or traditions. You can do literally whatever you want.
As Leap Day William says on “30 Rock,” “Live every day as if it’s Leap Day, and every Leap Day as if it’s your last.” So, take advantage of this extra 24 hours and have some fun.
