Entity celebrates Lorde's birthday.

It’s been over three years since Lorde released her debut album, “Pure Heroine,” and the singer is ready to say goodbye to her teenage years and hello to the next chapter.

In an emotional Facebook post published on her birthday Monday, Lorde hinted at a upcoming album.

“Tomorrow I turn 20, and it’s all I’ve been able to think about for days,” said Lorde.

Lorde, who rose to the tops of Billboard charts at age 16, said she laughs to think of the “glossy idiot god” she used to be. “If I’m being real with myself, in some ways I stopped feeling like a teenager a while ago.”

But Lorde certainly did  not waste her time as a teenager. Since releasing her first single, she has won two Grammys and ten New Zealand Music awards, was one of TIME’s 16 most influential teens of 2013 and was listed among Forbes’ list of 30 under 30. Her debut album “Pure Heroine” reached third place on Billboard’s 200 and her single “Royals” was number one on Billboard’s top 10 for 16 consecutive weeks.

After laying low last year, Lorde is ready to start talking about her upcoming album. For years, fans have only heard hints from the New Zealand-born artist about her new music, but her emotional Facebook post celebrating her 20th birthday hints at some major changes for the “Tennis Court” star.

“Writing Pure Heroine was my way of enshrining our teenage glory, putting it up in lights forever so that part of me never dies, and this record – well, this one is about what comes next,” she says.

So when is the big day? While clearly enthusiastic about her musical direction, the lyrics and the live show, Lorde does not have a definite date of the album’s release. “The big day is not tomorrow, or even next month realistically, but soon,” she promises.

While nothing is yet set in stone, we cannot wait to see what this “newborn adult” will do next.
