Kerry Bishé, who recently landed a new “Narcos” role, is making her way onto your favorite streaming platform on Sept. 1.

And thanks to the hype of “Narcos'” season three premier, everyone’s wondering who she is.

Well, for starters, she was born in New Zealand on May 1, 1984 to Kenneth Bishé. She then moved to America and grew up to become an actress in many movies and TV shows.

But if that’s all you knew about her, here’s everything you need to know in one list.

1 She Plays Donna Clarke in “Halt and Catch Fire”

Kerry Bishé plays the character Donna Clark, who currently works as an engineer at Mutiny, a gaming and social media company, but previously worked for Texas Instruments. Interestingly enough, though, before she became an engineer she was an accomplished musician. Bishé describes her character like a phoenix in her AMC Q&A. She explains how her character can rise from the ashes with “more grit and determination.”

The show is getting ready to release its fourth and last season on Aug. 19. In the last episode of the third season, Donna was a named partner in a venture capital firm, previously known as Amador, Gould, Gilson. However, when she realizes that becoming partner didn’t fulfill her in the way she wanted it to, she goes back to her old tech ways and attempts to create a start-up. Talk about a Woman That Does!

2 She Works Like a Woman, but (finally) Gets Paid Like a Man

In the latest news release regarding the AMC show, “Halt and Catch Fire,” Bishé and her female co-worker, MacKenzie Davis, explain how their salaries in the last season of the show reflect the progression of their characters. At the end of the season, we find out that Clark, Bishé’s character, and Cameron, Davis’s character, are creating their own start-up tech company. And now that they play boss women on the show, they finally got pay raises equal to their male co-workers to reflect their own boss-ness in reality.

Kerry Bishé comments in her Vulture interview that she does “think that the principle [of equal pay] is important, no matter the size of the numbers we’re talking about.” She also explains that the show already took the initiative to do it, but it wasn’t surprising for her because they’ve established a habit of greater equality than other shows.

“We blow the Bechdel test out of the water,” Bishé explains. “Which is the point of the Bechdel test: It’s a stupid bare minimum. [The show is] so deep and beautiful and about being a person and your ambition and struggling with yourself. That’s so vanishingly rare.”

She goes on to explain how this equality in TV is important to women’s real life endeavors of equality. “Roles for women are often so relational. Still, on the show, I’m the wife. When people are like, ‘Which of the two girls are you?’ You’re like, ‘Oh, she’s the wife of the guy. ’”

She further adds that Scoot McNairy, who played Kerry Bishé’s TV husband, Gordon, is “never defined as ‘the husband of the lady.’” And Bishé couldn’t have been any more on the nose with this assessment. Just check her bio on Donna’s “Halt and Catch Fire” Wikia page. The page begins with, “Donna Clark is Gordon’s wife and ex-engineering partner.”

3 She Will act as a New Character in Netflix’s “Narcos”

As you all know by now, Bishé is joining the women of the sensational Netflix drama, “Narcos,” for its third season. According to the Hollywood Reporter’s 2016 cast press release, Bishé will play Christina, an American woman. Apparently, she met her Colombian husband in college, and that’s what brings her to the cartel-ridden country.

However, she soon realizes that her husband is becoming a bigger part of the cartel. To avoid things becoming worse for everyone, she decides to get her family out. In order to do this without, you know, dying for snitching, she approaches the U.S. Embassy for help. However, it doesn’t seem like she’ll be saving her husband because THR specifically cites that her efforts are to “get away from him.”

This will clearly not be an easy extraction. Because of these complexities, it will become a series-long struggle for the American mother that will explore a fractured family and the dangers and pressures that come from the cartel life.

4 She Loves to Do New Things

As a relatively private woman, there isn’t much information to glean off of other news platforms in regard to her life. However, one thing we did find out on Kerry Bishé’s Instagram is that she’s a very adventurous woman. According to the Sun Times, her passions always involve doing something new and exciting. This aspect of the actress becomes more emphasized with the photo above that she posted on her Instagram in April. Yes, that’s Bishé having fun with a trapeze artist. Her caption for this photo reads, “The biggest risk is to take no risks at all.”

This quote usage earns Bishé another solid badass point.

In addition to her trapeze hobbies, Kerry Bishé decided to build a canoe in mid-2015. She explained to the Sun Times that she “took it out on a little lake up in Massachusetts [and] it floats beautifully.” Also in her interview, she elaborated on what made her decide to build a boat. Apparently, the 16-foot Sassafras canoe was a belated birthday present to herself. She posted a photo or two of the big boat on her Instagram page and she explained with pride that the foreign-looking objects in her caption were “homemade boat blocks for [her] homemade boat.”

5 She’s A Dog Person

So, if we already didn’t absolutely love this woman from her acting skills, her adventurous personality and her badass roles, we officially love her now. You can always trust a dog person. Although we’re unsure whether or not Bishé has her own canine best friend, we do know that she posts dogs regularly on her Instagram page.
