Racist teacher jokes seventh grader most likely to be a terrorist, Entity reports.

In the latest WTF news of today, a school teacher thought it’d be “funny” to award a SEVENTH-GRADE girl with “most likely to become a terrorist” in a mock, end-of-year ceremony.

It happened in Texas, because of course it did. And the little girl’s family is not happy, to say the least.

Who could blame them? Their 13-year-old daughter Lizeth Villanueva came home upset after her Lance Corporal Anthony Aguirre Junior High school gave her the racist award… just a day after the deadly terror attack at pop star Ariana Grande’s concert in Manchester, England.

Really… what the fuck was that teacher thinking? With racial tensions what they are in America right now, it’s hard to imagine that “joke” ever being funny. But to do that to a 13-year-old child… in front of her peers? Definitely not okay.

Joke awards are like, giving an art student something like “most likely to be caught doodling in her notebook,” not labeling someone as a threat to everyone around her.

Other awards included “most likely to cry for every little thing” and “most likely to become homeless,” so at least this teacher is consistent in their complete lack of any actual humor, or you know, human empathy.

The school distract released a statement to Fox 26 after the incident, saying, “The Channelview ISD Administration would like to apologize for the insensitive and offensive fake mock awards that were given to students in a classroom. Channelview ISD would like to assure all students, parents and community members that these award statements and ideals are not representative of the district’s vision, mission and educational goals for our students.”

They also claimed to have “disciplined” the teachers involved. Which seems like a pretty vague response after something so offensive.

Be better, Texas.
