Entity reports that Amy Schumer is going to play a living barbie in upcoming film.

How about this for a casting choice? The title role in the long planned live-action “Barbie” movie is set to go to… Amy Schumer.

Deadline reports that the comedy star is in talks with Sony to portray the living doll in a film with a body positive message focusing on female empowerment and the acceptance of different shapes and sizes.

The plot is said to see her kicked out of Barbieland for not fitting its impossibly perfect standards and setting out on an adventure to the real world. Later she returns to save her homeland from an unknown danger, after realizing that the key to happiness is to believe in oneself.

Amy had a smash hit movie with 2015 hit comedy “Trainwreck,” which she both wrote and starred in, and has gained acclaim for her feminist sketches on Comedy Central series “Inside Amy Schumer.” Now she seems poised to put her comic spin on the story of the iconic doll with perfect proportions.

The script has been in the works for a while with various writers but now Amy is said to be putting final touches on the screenplay along with sister Kim Caramele.
