For some people, it's blatantly obvious. For others, not so much.
There’s an unconscious consensus that when you fall in love, it will hit you like a ton of bricks. That it will be like a meteor exploding or the world ending — you just know it’s happening.
For some people, this is true. You’re just walking or doing something normal and it hits you. But for others, its a gradual process. There are steps that occur in the relationship that lead you to the realization that you’re in love.
So for those of you who aren’t sure if you’re in love, and may be wondering about some tell-tale signs, look no further. ENTITY and the people of reddit are here to help you out.

Yeah, sometimes I get mad at her, sometimes I think she’s an idiot, sometimes I want to throw her out a window, but there is no one I would rather fight and argue with.”
One of the tell-tale signs that you are in love, is that you want to spend all the time in the world with your partner. Even if it’s doing something simple like running errands, you want to spend as much time with them as you can.
An even better way to tell, is that you don’t want to do annoying things with anyone else. Fighting and arguing are a part of life. But when you realize that you would rather do it with them than anyone else — that’s when you know you’re in love. The annoying parts of life, you want to spend with your significant other.

The scary part of being in love, is not knowing how the future is going to turn out. This person you are so enamored with could wind up breaking your heart into a million pieces. But you know you found someone you really care about when the thought of this doesn’t scare you as much as it normally does.
Even though the possibility of heartbreak is always there in a relationship, when you find someone you care about, you don’t really care. You want to give it a go, no matter what the eventual outcome may be. And even if your Kim K crying face breaks out, the memories and love were all worth it.

Although you may think you know someone, there should be no one you know better than your partner. And you don’t want to use them or be selfish about what you want. You want them to be themselves, and you want to grow with them.
You love them because of who they naturally are. Not because of material things or the status they bring to your life. Although, let’s be real, there’s no harm in liking those aspects, too. It just shouldn’t be your main reason for being with them.
“For me, it was when I saw something cool or funny or whatever and began instantly thinking “Oh, she’d really enjoy this.” And then it got to the point where I wanted to share every experience I could with her! Every other feeling just fell right into place after that.”
You know you have a keeper when you find someone that you want to share every single detail of your life with — no matter how big or small. You know that they would enjoy certain movies, places or restaurants. When you see something when you’re out shopping that they would LOVE, you buy it — because you want them to experience it.
Ultimately, only you can tell if you’re in love with someone or not. And as the saying goes, “You know when you know.” And as cliche as it sounds, it’s true. You can tell when you are truly in love with someone by the way you act, feel and think about them — it’s different than anything you’ve experienced with your relationships before.
