When is it appropriate to get SMH via text?
Acronyms are getting a little out of control these days.
It’s a good thing ENTITY is here to set the record straight and help you figure out what is SMH and when is it appropriate to use?
Here’s everything you need to know to communicate with this trending acronym.
The term is usually used when someone has done something absolutely ridiculous or disappointing. More so to the point that you can’t even write out the full phrase, shaking my head and instead you refer to those three letters. It’s serious business.
The newfound acronyms that these clever millennials come up with every few months are actually very entertaining, but sometimes it can get a little confusing.
If someone sends you an “SMH” text about something that you did, rest assured that you have officially disappointed someone with your foolishness. And it’s not a very good look.
On the other hand, we want you to know when it’s appropriate for you to send someone a text with “SMH.”
You should use “SMH” when your boyfriend forgets to put the toilet seat down. Even though it’s foolish to have to remind him to put the toilet seat down every single day.
After you specifically asked her to be on time, something always happens like, she forgot her I.D. or she couldn’t find her keys. C’mon, girl. Get it together.
If you’re missing an important deadline because you went out that night, then this foolish and irresponsible behavior could earn you an “SMH.”
Even Hillary Clinton disapproves.
We all know its not a fair game when someone forgets to bring their white elephant gift. Now the game is short one person.
This deserves an SMH for your neighbor taking up two parking spots in front of your house and you’re forced to drive around the entire neighborhood to look for parking after a long day at work.
This one is foolishly rude and deserves an SMH, for sure. I know some repeat offenders in this category, and it is not cute.
The bigger emphasized acronym is SMDH, which really tells someone how disappointed you are at their foolish or irresponsible behavior. Now the acronym just got serious. Adding the “D” to SMH really adds an extra level of disappointment.
Now that we’ve learned about SMH and when to use it, don’t be afraid to use it whenever necessary.
