If you watched “Lip Sync Battle” with the “Stranger Things” characters, you’d probably agree with me when I say: it’s not fair how much talent is packed into their little bodies.

Not only can they act in a series drama and have ridiculously brilliant comedic timings, they can also perform a crowd into a frenzy.

We’re only sad that “Stranger Things’” Eleven (Millie Bobbie Brown) couldn’t join the show. Sure, there are usually only four songs for the time allotted, but who would complain about a two-part special for the best Netflix show of 2016?

However, even without our cherished Eleven, we got the see the other “Stranger Things” characters do their thing and it was packed with young boy joy and hilarity.

The Boys in the Stranger Things Cast

In the “Stranger Things” episodes, each character had their niche. Mike was the overly serious son and best friend that had the bleeding heart. We saw this in his willingness to help Eleven no matter how weird she acted at first. Dustin was the silly best friend who always had a smile on his face. Lucas was the skeptical realist. And Will was the quiet, introverted sweetheart.

Though many actors play characters that are different from their real-life personalities, some of the “Stranger Things” cast members were pretty similar to their on-screen personas. Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas) was still the calmest out of the group, and Gaten Matarazzo still had a smile on his face 24-7.

On the other hand, Finn Wolfhard (Mike) and Noah Schnapp (Will) were very different. Finn was just as goofy at Gaten’s character, and Noah was a complete extrovert with hours of energy.

Their Performances

When Noah performed his song, he was all bounce and snaps. He couldn’t contain his excitement. This was a distinct difference from his character, a boy who looked like everyday life was a pain to get through. Similarly, Finn was also full of energy. Most of his jubilant personality came out behind the scenes when he would mess with his friends behind the stage or talk smack about being the victor.

Gaten’s performance was surprising because it had a cohesive narrative. In the “Stranger Things” episodes, Dustin could hardly form a complete sentence without jumping to the next idea. His performance was a very close second.

Caleb’s performance, on the other hand, was what I would expect from Lucas because you could tell he was mature beyond his age. Still, there was a gooey, goofy center in there. The crowd went wild when he did the body roll. He definitely got in touch with his inner LL Cool J.

This episode gave us a closer look into the actors behind the “Stranger Things” characters we’ve come to know and love. And the best part of this episode? It was that just like the series, the boys connect in real life. Their happiness around each other was infectious for everyone.
