Entity reviews Apple's newest iOS update.

Have you ever wanted to add your personal, handwritten style to your text messages? Do you like receiving balloons on your birthday?

Well, Apple recently released iOS 10 for all iPhone users, and with the update came tons of fun changes for avid texters to get accustomed to. From hidden images to handwritten messages, the update is looking very exciting.

With this big upgrade, users can now send  interactive, personal and animated text messages from their iPhones!

Here are the new texting changes you can starting playing with.

1 New Emoji Pack

As is the case with every big Apple launch, the iOS 10 is coming with new emojis! In this launch, there are 72 new images to choose from – ranging from new faces to women playing basketball, cycling and weight lifting! There are also new “family” emojis to represent same-sex couples and single parents!

2 Sticker Packs and Applications

A Snapchat knock-off is now here in iMessage! Add text, stickers and effects on photos before you send them. Although there is no face filter, this in-message snapchat feature is cute and fun. Who doesn’t love drawing mustaches on your friends and sending it to brighten up their day?

Also, similar to Facebook’s Messenger, you can now download new stickers and emoji packs. Something many people seem to be raving about are the new Star Wars stickers available to download from the App Store. May the force be with you as you send these messages!

3 Invisible Ink

In what’s being described as “the nudes feature,” invisible ink puts a fog over images of your choice so the recipient can swipe his or her finger across the photo to reveal the secret behind the haze. While the element of surprise and suspense is a super cute idea, users might be so worried about what’s behind the smog that they may just leave it a mystery.

4 Tap to Add Emojis

The smart phone becomes even smarter with this feature. Now, when you type out a sentence, words with an equivalent emoji will turn yellow. If you tap your finger on the word, any emoji that could replace the word will come up and you can quickly replace the text with an image. This change is going to come in handy when you want to find an emoji in a hurry but don’t want to go through the list. Although it might become difficult to read a message if 90 percent of the text is emojis, this is a fun update that will definitely come in handy.

5 Hand Write Your Messages

There is something personal and meaningful about getting a handwritten note. It takes you back to when the boy you liked passed you a piece of paper in class or when your mom would write how much she loved you on a post it and slide it in your lunch box. This is definitely an interesting change with the iOS 10. Although it does take some practice getting used to the small space and writing with your fingers, handwritten messages are a cute and artistic way to send something a little more personal over the phone.

6 Message Effects

How many times have you read a message that was meant to be sarcastic, but was totally lost in textlation (translation but texting version)? This is a great way to fix that. You can “whisper” a message or you can “slam” it on a persons phone. This is a super creative way to make texting easier to understand for the recipient.

7 Respond Without Typing

Another cute feature of the update is the tapback effect. Basically, you can click on someone’s message and respond with a thumbs up or a few exclamation points next to the text. This is a great way to end a conversation without being rude and not responding. It’s the equivalent to the hip “K.”

8 Full Screen Animation

With full screen animation, you can send strobe lights and entertaining music in the background of the text screen. While the idea seems fun, it’s not hard to imagine mischievous friends sending flashing colors and headache-inducing dance music.

But for something a little more heartwarming, full-screen animation also enables you to send balloons for someone’s birthday, confetti or fireworks to celebrate an occasion and a shooting star to make wishes come true. Which one will you use?

With everything that has changed, it seems like users will be playing around on iMessage for the next couple of days. To update your phone, just go straight to the “software update” tab in your settings menu.
