Entity has collected the advice of people over the age of 100 on how to keep life interesting.

With life expectancy improving every year, some scientists have estimated that the man or woman who will reach 1,000 years old has already been born. Professor Aubrey de Grey from the University of Leiden says that every day we develop new medicines or techniques that help us avoid aging.

If the odds are in your favor, then you’ve got a long way to go. Here’s what the men and women who have lived over a century have to say about life.

1 AGNES FENTON, 110

According to UPI, Agnes Fenton drank three bottles of Miller High Life and a glass of whiskey every day. Apparently, her doctor advised her to do so after discovering that she had a benign tumor. Fenton added her own touch to the “prescription” by adding a bit of Johnnie Walker Blue Label.

2 JEANNE CALMENT, 122

Jeanne Calment, born in 1875 (she met Van Gogh!), admitted that her secret to longevity is olive oil. She poured it over her food and her face and accompanied it with a glass of port every day. She also ate one kilogram of chocolate every week and smoked two cigarettes a day from age 21 to 117. So … it looks like olive oil, wine, chocolate and smoking are the secrets to a long life.

3 GERTRUDE WEAVER, 116

Weaver tells TIME magazine that she never smoked or drank. Instead, she advocated for the importance of sleep. But most importantly, her main advice is to “just be kind.” She advises us to treat people you want to be treated and you will have a long, gratifying life.

4 JESSIE GALLAN, 109

As Queen Bey sings, “Tell ‘em boy, bye.” Miss Gallan credits her 109 years on the fact that she never married. According to Gallan, men are trouble makers and not worth a woman’s time. Rather, spend it on exercising and surrounding yourself with “nice people.” If that’s still not enough for you, Gallan recommends eating porridge regularly.

5 EMILIANO MERCADO DEL TORO, 115

Ready to eat something unusual? Emiliano Mercado del Toro regularly ate Funche, a sort of corn porridge, with cod fish. Along with the porridge, he also believed that his sense of humor got him a long way in life.

6 DR. FRED GOLDMAN, 105

According to NBC News, this doctor was still active at 100 years old. He says, “I feel I can still be helpful to people. And, I can still do the job. So, there’s no sense to consider retirement.” Despite what many other doctors may say, Dr. Goldman claims that exercise is overrated, multivitamins should be trashed and that visits to the doctor should be limited.

7 ADELINA DOMINGUES, 114

Don’t care about your looks! Adelina tells San Diego Union Tribute that she had never been to a beauty shop so she never considered herself to be vain. She also didn’t smoke, drink or use “religion as a medicine.”
