ENTITY Mag shares my reflection

This internship/mentorship program at ENTITY has been a great experience to say the least. Being at ENTITY was more fulfilling than working at a magazine. I was able to learn new skills and improve on old skills. While I gained new skills, I gained new friends. Working with 49 other people has made me more comfortable starting my next chapter here in LA.

Here are the hard skills I learned at ENTITY.

SEO

One of the hard skills that I’m proud to have learned during this course was search engine optimization. In my career of interest, SEO is essential. Even though it is a hard concept to understand, having experience in SEO will upgrade my resume. SEO is a valuable tool to gain, and I will always be grateful to use that experience in my career.

Adobe Programs

I never knew I would one day consider myself a decent graphic designer until we worked with Adobe. Even though I had some experience with Photoshop and other Adobe programs, I learned even more on Photoshop and worked with Illustrator and InDesign. With these new skills, I now have experience in basic graphic design. Graphic design week was my favorite week. I was able to tap into my creative side that I didn’t know existed, and I made some amazing projects to add to my portfolio.

Marketing

Even though I took some marketing-based classes in college, I still did not feel comfortable pursuing a career in marketing. Once we covered marketing strategies during this program, I became more knowledgeable. I am now comfortable applying to marketing-based jobs because I refreshed my marketing skills at ENTITY.

Overall, my experience here at ENTITY Academy was an unforgetable one. This mentorship program helped me transition from college into the real world. I am excited about and looking forward to presenting my skills to future employers and becoming a part of the #WomenThatDo.
