You won't believe what this Bachelor star has been up to...
Are you watching this season’s Bachelorette and wishing there were more episodes for you to binge? Well, then how about we take a trip down Bachelorette memory lane and check up on Britt Nilsson. Everyone fell hard for Britt Nilsson on Chris Soules’ season of the Bachelor. And while Nilsson didn’t win Soules’ heart or become the Bachelorette, she’s certainly experienced her fair share of adventures since the Bachelor.

In the handful of posts that Nilsson has published so far, the ex-Bachelor star has talked about everything from body image to sex to her first night as the Britt Bachelor we remember her as. These aren’t just short, superficial posts either. She gives you an honest look at her inner thoughts and her faith, writing things like: “If I don’t feel comfortable in my skin, I hear lies in my head that change the vision I have of who I am– my overall value depreciates dramatically.” If you ever wondered if Nilsson was more than just a pretty face, her website is proof that she is!
And the most recent post on her website celebrates this exciting news: Bachelor Britt is engaged! Although she didn’t snag her dream man on the Bachelor, Britt Nilsson and Jeremy Byrne are now happily engaged after almost two years of dating. Nilsson had actually previously dated Byrne four or five years previously for almost a year. A mutual friend originally introduced the two.
According to Britt Karolina (Britt Nilsson’s Instagram account), Nilsson is “over the moon.” As she writes in an engagement announcement post: “The man of my dreams and the most godly, amazing, fun, life-giving, silly, intelligent, wonderful best friend I could ever ask for is my future husband!!!! I have been dreaming of this day forever!! Thank You Jesus!!!”
Now that she’s engaged, Britt Nilsson will obviously be spending a good chunk of time planning the wedding. She reportedly wants the wedding as soon as possible, such as in August or early September. She also wouldn’t mind it being televised!
As for the kind of vibe she’s planning, Nilsson told ET: “We want it to feel like a party, and a party that feels like us,” she continued. “So, it will probably be under trees with Christmas lights with games and dancing and candles! And not a fancy chicken dinner you pick beforehand, something more fun. Maybe some cool food trucks? And the dress, I’m not sure yet! Simple and sweet.”
Of course, ever since the Bachelor, Britt Nilsson has also kept herself busy with charitable causes like the World Vision Campaign. She shares on her websites that, for the last six or so years, she’s been sponsoring 10 kids through World Vision. She pays $35 a month to ensure that each child receives proper food, education, medical attention and clean water.
“I am so excited to tell people about this amazing opportunity to spread love, hope, and change to those who desperately need it! I would be so grateful if you would join me and keep these children and their communities in your prayers today!” Nilsson writes. “Let’s pay it forward and spread hope, love, and a chance for a better life! LOVE YOU GUYS!“
Nilsson’s Instagram Britt Karolina also reveals plenty of recent adventures. For instance, Britt shared snapshots of her visiting Venice, enjoying California’s flower fields in Carlsbad, and paddle-boarding in Austin, Texas.
She’s also been reflecting on lessons in love from her time on the Bachelor. “The show taught me that love is complex and has more to do with really becoming someone’s best friend than it has to do with fancy dates and helicopters,” she explained to ET. “I made some great friends on the show, but the realest, truest love of my life was in the real world, and I’d rather be grocery shopping with the love of my life than in a private jet without him. He’s my one! And the rest all pales in comparison.”
Sure, Bachelor Britt didn’t win the show or become the next Bachelorette. However, it’s obvious that Britt Nilsson has still managed to find her happily ever after. Her fans can only be sad that they didn’t get to see Prince Charming sweep Nilsson off her feet on the big screen…but hopefully this season’s Bachelorette will give us all the on-screen romance we need!
