You won’t be able to buy a pair of Alfred Hitchcock underpants anytime soon – and it’s all because of the movie legend’s granddaughters.

The legacy of the master of suspense who directed hits like “Psycho” and “The Birds” is protected by his descendants, who control licensing of the late moviemaker’s image.

“We were recently approached by a company that wanted to put his face on underpants and it was easy to say no to that,” Tere Carrubba told ENTITY.

“Protecting our grandfather’s great legacy in a respectful way is an important honor and something we take very seriously,” her sister Katie Fiala added.

They have a nothing cheesy or tacky rule. “Once I saw a young man wearing an unfamiliar T-shirt with Alfred Hitchcock’s face on it and when I asked where he got it he replied ‘China!’ We can’t control everything but we do work hard on the licensing to look after his interests.”

Another part of the California-based siblings’ mission is to share with the world the kind of person “Hitch,” who died in 1980, really was. They say some of the negative portrayals of him in books, articles and films as something of a bully or even tyrant on set do not match their memories.

“He had a great sense of humor and we’d like people to know that,” said Terre, 62.

Katie, 58, added, “He didn’t bring his work home and instead of talking about his films he would ask us about our school , studies and our interests.”

The pair spoke to ENTITY at a Los Angeles screening of a specially restored version of Hitchcock’s 1939 film “Jamaica Inn,” which will be screened on Fri Mar. 24 on KCET in Southern California and nationwide the same night on Link TV, which can be found on DirecTV and Dish network.

Their mother is Pat Hitchcock, 88, Alfred’s only child, and they work with her and their other sister, Mary Stone, 63, to continue, preserve and protect the Hitchcock brand.
