ENTITY reports on why Gina Rodriguez won't be writing a golden globes speech.Gina Rodriguez

Gina Rodriguez has nabbed a third Golden Globes nomination for her role on popular series “Jane the Virgin”…but don’t expect the star to write an acceptance speech.

The positive response she received for her off the cuff speech when she won the best actress prize for the CW show in 2015 has taught her it’s best to come unprepared for such moments.

Speaking with Marie Claire, the January cover girl recalled how that’s just what she did on that breakthrough night. “I didn’t have the guts to write anything down, but my heart knew what it wanted to say all along,” Rodriguez said. It had been the actress’s first Golden Globes nomination and first win.

“My father always says that if you don’t lie, you never have to remember anything,” she added, suggesting that she will follow the same formula should she win again this year, when nominated for the show for a third time. “When I’m honest or real, that’s when life goes best for me.”

Rodriguez is famously close with her father, with her moving shoutout to him having marked the highpoint of the 2015 Golden Globes. “My father used to tell me to say every morning, ‘Today’s gonna be a great day. I can and I will.’ Well, dad, today is a great day. I can and I did,” she had said through tears.

The 74th Annual Golden Globe Awards, hosted by Jimmy Fallon, will air on Sunday, Jan. 8 on NBC.
