Entity shows alternatives to the macbook.

It seems that both men and women are increasingly turning to Apple for all their tech product needs. And it’s no surprise; Apple seems to be running the show in terms of sleek, easy-to-use devices. They’re less prone to viruses, resell high, have great customer care and insurance plans and are streamlined into one reliable operating system. However they aren’t customizable, are awful for gaming, cost big bucks (The newest Macbook starts at $1,299) and don’t have great processing power.

So if you’re looking for an alternative to the Macbook, here are a few other computers that might give you more bang for your buck.

1 Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon

This computer was voted the top business ultrabook by Laptop magazine. It costs a little more than the newest Macbook (at $1399) but boasts an impressive operating system, extreme durability, a fingerprint reader, a lust-worthy display and loud speakers.

2 Dell XPS 13

This computer design may not be as pretty or shiny as the Macbook, but it has a much higher processing system and nine to 10 hours of battery life. Prices start at only $799.

3 Acer Aspire S 13

The Acer Aspire S 13 was voted by PC Magazine as having the best value for the quality. And it certainly appears to hold up to its title with its core i5 processor and 256 GB of memory. (For context, the Macbook has 8 GB of memory and 128 GB of storage.)

4 Lenovo Yoga 900

This Lenovo computer boasts four USB ports. It was designed to directly compete with Apple and is not only thinner but cheaper, according to Forbes. It has the same CPU, storage space and doubles as a tablet. It costs $1,199.

5 ASUS ZenBook UX305

If you want a Macbook but aren’t ready to dish out more than a thousand dollars, this ASUS computer is for you. It was built as competition for the Macbook Air, which means that its aluminum design makes it thinner and cheaper at only only $699.
