Alexa, play "Earth" by Lil Dicky.
Recently, eco-friendly products have been creeping their way into the spotlight. We know its hard to part with your beloved holy grails, but sometimes break-ups are for the best. In this case, it’s better for the environment. You know what they say…when one door closes, another always opens.
It’s time to start showing Mother Nature how much she actually means to us!
Eco-friendly literally means environmentally friendly. According to The Global Ecolabelling Network (GEO), when a product is labeled as eco friendly it “indicates positive, or at least not harmful, effects on living things.” This applies to all aspects from production to packaging.
If you’ve ever wanted to do something to help the environment, this is your chance!
According to Her Campus, the Environmental Professionals Network reported that eco-friendly products, “provide benefits for the people economically, socially, and environmentally, while preserving the public health.”
By taking baby steps, we can all play a part in taking better care of our earth. Plus, no more videos and pictures of baby turtles with plastic stuck up their nose. It’s a win-win situation.
Now that you know a little more about eco-friendly products, here are a few brands that carry them.
Bloggers Marianna Hewitt and Lauren Gores, created the brand because they were “still searching for something with good-for-you ingredients that gave our skin an immediate selfie-worthy glow.” They never found it, so they just created it!
This skincare company started out with just one product. They now have three clean masks available for purchase. Their aesthetically pleasing tubes of product have changed the skin of many.
Plastic packaging who? Not only do they provide sustainable packaging, but they also pride themselves on clean ingredients. According to their website, their mission is to, “plant the seeds of health, well-being, and sustainability for future generations.” We’re here for it.
From skincare to hair care, Seed Phytonutrients are a great eco-friendly option that has it all.
The glass packaging is not only beautiful but is also eco-friendly. Rosie Marie, the founder of RMS Beauty, had health issues in the past and wants to do what she can to prevent other women from having the same experiences. She is now dedicated to producing makeup with good-for-you ingredients.
Sephora focuses on sustainability and encourages the brands they carry to do the same. The “Sephora Stands” page states they believe, “together we can protect and preserve the health and beauty of our planet.” We couldn’t agree more!
As you can probably tell by the name of the brand, they are dedicated to having products that don’t cause any threat to the earth. By using 100% recycled materials for their packaging, they are definitely staying true to their claims. To even further their efforts, they have an entire page on their website dedicated to their goals.
Baby steps! By all of us making little changes like these companies and their eco-friendly products, we can make a big difference.
