Entity shares five easy things you can do every day to take care of your skin.

As a woman, your beauty routine is like a never-ending cycle. You break out, you cover up with makeup, you clog your pores, you get stressed out and then you break out even more! At this point, you’re close to pulling out your hair and asking your doctor for a quick fix for acne.

There is no one-day solution for completely banishing the blemishes from your face, but there are set practices that, with commitment, can mean a lifetime of more beautiful, radiant skin. These are five daily practices that will promote clearer, healthier skin.

1 DO NOT TOUCH YOUR FACE.

There are millions and millions of bacteria growing on your fingers, which is what you will be covering your face with if you keep touching it! Picking at your face will not only promote the growth of bacteria but will also increase the likelihood of pimples and scars showing up.

2 WASH YOUR FACE EVERY DAY.

Use a gentle cleanser with lukewarm water and gently massage your face, as scrubbing hard will over-dry the skin. After you’ve wiped the cleanser off, pat dry, because rubbing can damage the fresh skin you’ve now unveiled. Interestingly enough, if you generally have acne-free skin, there isn’t much need to have a face wash regimen for the morning. Dermatologists recommend that acne-prone skin should be washed in the morning and evening. The evening is the most important time to wash your skin because you need to wash away all the dirt and pollutants that have collected in your pores throughout the day. But if you are the lucky recipient of a genetic lottery and have clear skin, washing your face solely in the evening will suffice.

3 STAY CONSISTENT WITH WHICH FACIAL PRODUCTS YOU USE.

Think about all of the things you put on your face. If you are using two different foundations, three different cleansers, and two different toners, you are doing a disservice to your skin. Your skin will be confused by all of the chemicals being thrown on it, and more importantly, it will dry out. This will increase the appearance of wrinkles and lines. And absolutely never, never, EVER sleep with makeup on!

4 TAKE CARE OF YOUR PHYSICAL AND MENTAL STATE.

They don’t call it beauty sleep for nothing – get your rest! Staying up late will show up on your face with circles, puffy eyes, and dark spots. Lack of sleep weakens the immune system and increases anxiety.  While there is still more research yet to be done, scientists say that cells that produce oil sebum have receptors for stress hormones. The sebum can clog your pores and produce a cyst or pimple.  A healthy and balanced diet is also key to revitalized and healthy skin. Avoid really oily foods and make sure you get your nutrients. Your skin needs this love too!

5 DRINK AT LEAST TWO LITERS OF WATER EVERY DAY.

Water is the elixir of life. Drinking water means you are hydrating your entire body, including your skin! While you should drink at least two liters, three liters is recommended.

Know what you are putting on your skin and inside your body. Treat your body well by giving it what it needs and not just what it wants. Be knowledgeable about your skin type and adjust your skin care regimen accordingly. Clear skin, here you come.
