This Hollywood feminist is so much more than just "cool."
Do you consider yourself a fan of “The Princess Diaries” movies? If so, then you probably know Anne Hathaway from her breakout role as Mia Thermopolis, Princess of Genovia.
Or if you’re me and your favorite movie in the history of ever is “Becoming Jane” (2007), then you also probably know my girl Jane, err Hathaway.
But how well do you actually know the “all-grown up” Annie? Don’t worry, we’ve got all the info on the star below. Here are five fast facts you need to know about Anne Hathaway:
In 2013, Anne Hathaway picked up a best supporting actress Oscar for her gripping performance in “Les Miserables.” Her acting chops have also been rewarded with another Oscar nomination for Best Actress in “Rachel Getting Married” (2008).
Hathaway is not exactly rebellious nor has she ever wanted to be. But when asked to list her favorite rules to break, she claims her favorite rule to break when she was younger was “You can’t do that because you’re a girl.”
She says, “As soon as I heard that one I was like, ‘I’m going to do it.’ ‘I’m going to do it better than you ever thought I could.’”
Now that’s my kind of Hollywood feminist.
It turns out Hathaway loves vintage clothing and for a very ethical reason. In an interview with ABC News’ Robin Roberts, Hathaway wore a $15 dress from a flea market.
The Oscar-winner chose the environmentally responsible dress, saying, “I’m trying to be more sustainable with my fashion choices, so I’m trying to wear vintage wherever I can.”
Beauty, talent, brains and a soft spot for the environment? You go, girl!
Anne Hathaway’s net worth is $35 million (2015). The actress’ career in show business has fueled her immense fortune.
She has been featured on the big screen in movies such as “Ella Enchanted” (2004), “Brokeback Mountain” (2005) and “The Devil Wears Prada” (2006), to name a few.
And here’s what might surprise you most about her: She’s a huge football fan. Well, a huge fan of the NFL to be exact. The actress is a fan of both the New York Giants and the San Diego Chargers (her adopted West Coast team).
She only recently became interested in football after watching the 2013 Super Bowl. At the time, she was filming “Interstellar” (2014) with Matt Damon and Matthew McConaughey, who were happy to walk her through the ins and outs of the sport.
Since then, Hathaway joined a fantasy football league with “The Intern” (2015) co-star Zack Pearlman, and came in second place. Her husband of almost five years, Adam Shulman, also got her tickets to a Chargers game for her birthday one year. Touchdown, Hathaway!
Hathaway’s current gig — the all-female “Ocean’s Eight” — hits US theaters June 8, 2018. The feminist crime heist flick also stars Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Rihanna, Mindy Kaling, Awkwafina, Helena Bonham Carter and Sarah Paulson.
When she’s not giving an Oscar-worthy speech at the United Nations or being a champion for sustainability, the 34-year-old mom is enjoying life between her homes in Los Angeles and New York City with her actor-producer husband, their one year old son and their dogs.
