The series generated a lot of buzz when it released this summer. Young actress Millie Bobby Brown was ranked as IMDb’s top breakout star and “Stranger Things” recently got nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Television Series (Drama). The cast is currently working on filming the second season, but until then you can binge-watch the first season of adventures.

5 “Gilmore Girls”

“Gilmore Girls” is a classic fan favorite. This series tells the story of the quirky residents of Stars Hollow, Connecticut, and how their lives add fun and joy to the lives of single mom Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham) and her daughter Rory (Alexis Bledel). This series explores a number of issues, including family, friendship, romance, ambition, generational differences and social class. Not to mention that the show’s numerous pop culture references are also fan favorites.

And the best part about finishing this series is that Netflix recently released an event series titled “Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life” which picks up nine years after the end of the show. Now, Rory is a professional journalist and Lorelai still runs the Dragonfly Inn. In these new four 90-minute episodes, you’ll also see plenty of the same stars from the original “Gilmore Girls” series, including Kelly Bishop, Melissa McCarthy and Scott Patterson.

Get started on these this holiday season. But if you’re looking for more great shows to watch, read ENTITY’s favorite series with powerful female leads.
