We all have that one friend. That friend who works as a yoga instructor but loves doing cross-fit and rock climbing in her spare time. That friend who, when she has kids, will probably have homemade baby food prepared months in advance. Take that friend, multiply her by one hundred and one glamorous celebrity emerges: Gwyneth Paltrow, the queen of healthy living.
Not sure what we’re talking about? Here are seven times that Gwyneth Paltrow gave us unattainable, healthy lifestyle goals.
Well, technically she went for a run while enjoying a relaxing time on a yacht. If strapping on tennis shoes is Paltrow’s way to fight seasickness, more power to her!
And you thought spa treatments for your face were luxurious enough. NY Daily News quotes Paltrow stating that she loves a spa treatment that effectively steams her lower half. The treatment involves sitting on a “mini-throne” while a mixture of infrared and mugwort steam cleans your uterus and related lady parts. Paltrow claims it helps cleanse the body, release energy and balance hormones.

To kick off 2016, Paltrow released a “Detox diet” on her website, Goop. The seven-day meal plan includes snacks like Crudités with Leftover Cilantro Cashew Dressing or a Surya Spa Aloe and Coconut Smoothie. Now, we’re all about the snacking – but does the diet come with a free personal chef or should we write “Crudités” on our protein bar wrappers with permanent market and call it a day?
What do you do two hours a day, six hours a week? Watch Netflix? Drive to work? According to Paltrow’s interview at Self, she spends that much time in the gym for two weeks when “prepping for something or [after she’s] been eating a lot of pie.” So much for your thirty minute bike ride after a pizza-filled girls’ night.
When we look at the list Paltrow shares of her favorite beauty products, our wallets gasp a little. For skincare alone, Paltrow uses Instant facial ($125), Blue Balm Concentrate from May Lindstrom ($160), Umbra Sheer Physical Defense SPF 30 ($38), Bulgarian Lavender Body Oil ($65), Neroli or Rose and Jasmine Body Oil ($58-$66) and Ursa Face Wipes ($19). That adds up to around $473 – not to mention her preferred makeup and hair products.

If you have kids – or have daydreamed about the possibility – plenty of quick weeknight meals like PB&J or Spaghetti-Os probably pop into mind. Not so with Paltrow if you believe her latest cookbook, “It’s All Easy: Delicious Weekday Recipes for the Super-Busy Home Cook.”Some of the standout recipes? Soft polenta with cherry noodles, Moroccan chicken salad wrap and Quick Sesame Noodles. Probably not the meals you remember devouring after school but delicious nonetheless.
You’ve heard the saying before: “No pain, no gain.” When it comes to Gwyneth Paltrow, she takes it very seriously. In April, she revealed that she tried out apitherapy. According to Health, this method entails as many as 80 bee strings. Paltrow explains that apitherapy helps reduce inflammation and scarring – but at a very painful price.
