There are some things in this world that leave us seriously baffled. In an attempt to be unique, beautiful or embrace their true self, some people push far beyond any social boundaries. And National Absurdity Day on Nov. 20 celebrates this.

This national holiday is all about highlighting the zaniest things in the world, which makes these people perfect candidates.

If being different is what makes you special, then these are seven very special people.

ENTITY celebrates National Absurdity Day with seven examples of the craziest stunts, body modifications and lifestyles the world has ever seen.

1 Dennis Avner tattooed and modified his body to become “Stalking Cat.”

While the tattoo culture is being more embraced in the 21st century, people like Dennis Avner take body modification to the next level. Avner fully transformed himself into a female tiger complete with orange skin and black stripes tattooed, which were tattooed on his body.

However, Avner didn’t stop at tattoos. He even altered his entire face shape with subdermal implants and transdermal implants to attach whiskers. He also underwent lip bifurcation, had his teeth sharpened and got his ears surgically pointed. All this effort was done in an attempt to appear as cat-like as he could.

And as strange as this may be to you, Avner decided to transform into a tiger because of his Huron heritage. He said a Native American leader told him to “follow the ways of the tiger” and Avner believed that what he did with his body was abiding by tradition.

Avner, unfortunately, died in 2012, with reports citing probable suicide.

2 There’s a Guinness World Record for most toilet seats broken by the head in one minute.

If he didn’t have brain damage before attempting to break over 40 toilet seats with his head, he probably does now. Kevin Shelley broke 46 toilet seats in Germany to earn himself the Guinness World Record in 2007.

The video above shows Shelley a year later, head-crushing a mere 44 toilet seats, while attempting to break his own record.

With blood streaming down his face, we can definitely say Shelley is dedicated to his craft and deserves a spot on the Absurdity Day list.

3 Pixiee Fox got six ribs removed to look like the real-life Barbie.

When it comes to Pixiee Fox, we’re wondering which doctor actually agreed to go through with her procedures.

We’re not just talking about breast implants or Kardashian-style butt boosters, although she has those too. Shockingly, the glamour model had six ribs removed in her quest to achieving the real-life Barbie look.

In total, she shelled out almost $170,000 on over 100 cosmetic surgeries. In addition to rib removal and breast and butt augmentation, Fox also bought permanent bright green eye implants and underwent jaw surgery that risked paralyzing her.

“I know my mum is a bit disappointed in me. It’s hard to see her disappointment. Especially when I have just had a new procedure done,” Fox said.

Her 2017 plans are to launch her own comic book series where she is featured as the crime-fighting protagonist. You do you, Pixiee.

4 Elaine Davidson is the world’s most pierced woman.

There is not much of Elaine Davidson’s face that is not pierced. When she took the Guinness World Record for most pierced woman in 2000, she had 462 piercings, with 192 on her face alone.

However, Davidson has come a long way since then. She now has over 9,000 piercings and considers her record as a dedicated responsibility, one that attracts other people. “People often just want to look at me or touch me – some even want to kiss me,” Davidson says on her website.

Davidson also notes she does not have any trouble sleeping, despite constantly leaving her piercings in, which weigh over six lbs. But why would the piercings bug her when she also sleeps on a bed of nails? In addition, she enjoys walking on fire, laying on broken glass and has a black belt in Judo. This is one woman we definitely don’t want to mess with.

5 Morgue professionally swallows swords and metal balls.

It’s no surprise that the Venice Freakshow contains some pretty strange people. However, Morgue is the most shocking of the public performers. This freaky street performer swallows swords, metal balls and leads hooks through his nasal cavity and out of his mouth.

One wrong move and Morgue could easily end up dead. He told AMC his most dangerous stunt is the metal ball regurgitation. In fact, one mistake landed him in an emergency room; a lodged ball had to be forcibly removed after it caused him to cough up blood.

However, even the hospital incident didn’t stop him from his self-taught craft. Morgue continues practicing, keeping his phone dialed to 911, in case he needs to quickly hit the send button and get some assistance.

Another act that may require medical attention is his pin cushion act, where he sticks needles in different areas of his body.

“It’s sort of a transcendent experience where you have all of these emotions going on at the same time. You have the extreme pain. Then there’s also being on stage in front of a crowd. To say it’s an adrenaline rush doesn’t really do it justice. It’s sort of experiencing a different state of being,” Morgue said to AMC.

6 Patricia Krentcil wanted seriously tan skin.

Patricia Krentcil first took the spotlight in 2012 when she was accused of letting her 5-year-old daughter enter a tanning bed, which allegedly left the little girl with burns on her legs.

Krentcil denied the accusations and pleaded not guilty in court. However, it wasn’t her crime that took center stage. Instead, it was her own ridiculous obsession with tanning and her super bronze skin.

Deemed “Tan Mom” by the public, Krentcil used over 20 tanning beds a month and was banned from over 60 salons after the incident.

Nowadays, Krentcil ditches her tan look and opts for a more natural skin shade, which she said makes her feel “weird and pale.”

7 Gary Matthews lives his life as Boomer the Dog.

When it comes to Absurdity Day, living your life as an animal seems pretty fitting. Gary Matthews showcased his alternative lifestyle on the “Dr. Phil” show. The 50-year-old transitioned from Gary Matthews to Boomer the Dog after a revelation in 1979.

“I had this waking dream of actually transforming into a dog. It felt like I was stuck in the floor because I was really into the whole emotion of changing into a dog,” he said.

Despite Dr. Phil pointing out that Matthews may be using the idea of becoming a dog to compensate for being a virgin and not having healthy adult relationships, Matthews insists he is just happier as Boomer.

He even dresses up with a paper sheepdog costume when out in public to fully embrace his identity.

Matthews said when people see him as Boomer out in public they say, “‘Can I take you home?’ They actually say that to me many times.”
