The Adam Driver and Joanne Tucker love story is one that must be told.

If you watch the HBO show “Girls,” Adam Driver may look familiar to you. He plays Hanna’s on-and-off boyfriend Adam Sackler. But you may also recognize him from his role as Kylo Ren in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

But Adam Driver isn’t the only successful one. Joanne Tucker is quite the actress herself. She’s known for her role in films like “Gayby,” “Listen Up Philip” and “Zero Days.”

We know. Completely different genres.

So how did the couple meet? Well, their love story begins way before either of them rose to success.

Before Adam Driver was an actor, he joined the Marine Corps. After 9/11, Driver was determined to join and serve his country. During his training, he was the target of a deadly white phosphorus. The only thing that saved him was the wind, he told Rolling Stone. “When you’re in the military, you’re confronted with your own mortality,” he said. And thanks to this moment, he decided that he was going to “smoke cigarettes and be an actor” when he got out.

But it didn’t exactly happen this way because of an almost fatal mountain-biking accident. Driver broke his sternum and then found out that he would not be deployed to the Middle East. So after serving for two years, he was medically discharged.

He then decided to audition for Juilliard again. This time around, he was accepted.

Joanne Tucker was also studying acting when the couple met in 2006. It seems that the love they have for theater and the arts really brought them together to start such a wonderful relationship.

And to get married, they had a secret destination wedding.

Adam Driver and Joanne Tucker dated for many years before tying the knot on June 22, 2013. The destination wedding included their close family and friends.

Amongst those close friends, Lena Dunham, who plays Driver’s love interested in “Girls,” attended the wedding.

Dunham told Us Weekly, “They are very sweet together. They’ve been dating forever, years, and live together; [they’re] very comfortable and in love. She was with him before the ‘Girls’ fame.”

And while we’re at it, the way Adam Driver describes the things his wife has taught him is the cutest thing you’ll read. Driver told Broadway, “She taught me what Gouda cheese is … and that you shouldn’t talk with your mouth full and spit on the sidewalk.”

Just goes to show you that they embrace the silly aspects of their relationship, too.

And now that they’re married, they’re doing great things with their partnership. For one, they’re founders of a non-profit organization.

The Adam Driver and Joanne Tucker love story continues to get better as time passes by.

The couple founded a non-profit organization in 2006 named “Arts in the Armed Forces,” which provides the armed forces access to high-quality theater programming. Because Adam Driver still wanted to feel connected to his military roots, it inspired him and Joanne Tucker to create this opportunity for those serving in the military.

Joanne Tucker currently serves as the Artistic Director for the organization while working on her own acting career.

And although the two don’t have children yet, ENTITY wishes them luck with their marriage and their successful careers.
