There are many prominent personalities on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” but Amiyah Scott has proven to stand out from the crowd.
Being one of the first transgender women to appear on the reality show, Scott documented the highs and lows of being a trans woman in the black community.
Even though Scott was on television, there is still little known about the reality TV star.
ENTITY shares five facts about Amiyah Scott.
Amiyah Scott not only was on a reality show, but she was on hit TV drama “Star” as well. The Fox drama, which also features actress Queen Latifa, is centered around a young woman’s path of having a successful movie career. Amiyah Scott played a woman named “Cotton” who struggled with issues as a trans woman. Scott tells JET that she was ecstatic to be a part of the show.
Scott said, “It is just amazing. It’s surreal. Each and every morning I wake up and it happens so I know that it’s real but, wow! Just wow. Working with Lee Daniels and Queen Latifah and the list goes on …it’s the vibe. Me, walking into it, because you don’t know what to expect, was my first acting experience and to be met with such warm people, it’s such a family vibe. I’m so blessed and thankful to be a part of something so great.”
In a segment named spotlight, fans asked Scott hard, pointed questions. One of them being, “How do you stay confident and humble when dealing with haters on social media?” Amiyah Scott replied that it’s all about keeping your focus.
“…it’s all about what drives you, contrary to popular belief. I mean, I don’t know what people think or what they may know, but I’m not really doing what I’m doing for attention… My main goal is to provide for myself …” shares Scott.
She continues with “… You just have to stay focused at the task at hand. I know the things that I want to accomplish and know what I have to do to get there, so when you’re so focused on accomplishing your goals, you really don’t have time to worry about other things that may not matter…”

Amiyah Scott became friends with Amber Rose and Lil Wayne, and skyrocketed to an A-List star. She says that her first encounter with the stars came at a huge ball held in New York.
Scott tells TFF Mag, “I met Amber Rose at the first major ball that projected me into that scene. It was a huge ball in New York between 2006 and 2007… She was in the house of Mizrahi with me and she was one of my favorite girls to spend time with at balls and events. She was a sweet girl and always has been. She hasn’t changed at all since the fame. People are normal people and regardless of who we are, we’re all still normal people at the end of the day.”
“As far as the Lil Wayne rumors go, I don’t know who said that or how that got started. I’ve had a few encounters with high profile men and that’s all that I’m going to say. I won’t ever name them. A girl who kisses and tells never gets kissed again,” Scott laughs off.
In a Twitter post, Amiyah Scott wanted to make it clear to her Twitter followers that drag queens and transgendered individuals are not the same things.
Although Scott was being featured on the show “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” she is not actually originally from Atlanta, Georgia. On Scott’s Model Mayhem profile, she addresses where her place of birth really was.
Scott says, “Born in Manhattan, New York but raised in New Orleans, Louisiana… I am the ultimate Southern Belle with an “Up North” twist… ”
We are excited to see what new roles are to come for Amiyah Scott.
