Australian store bans black teens, Entity reports.

A racist sign in a Melbourne, Australia convenience store window has sparked outrage.

The message read, “Because the 14-18 year old black always steal. Prohibit 14-18-year-old blacks and dogs into the shop.” Wait, what?

Not surprisingly, Twitter did not respond well to the offensive note. One woman passionately posted, “It’s people like this putting up these sorts of comments that not only attract bad for themselves, but make our world a horrible place.”

And Twitter user @Richardbrydon1 wrote, “Melton milk bar bans ‘black teens’ … I CANT BELIEVE THIS STILL HAPPENS……..HERE, STAND UP PEOPLE.”

But, the shopkeeper claims it isn’t racist, because the thieves in his store are “always black.” Whatever you need to tell yourself… Now, video footage does show a pretty infuriating group robbing the shop.

The eight black teens split up as they walk in, with a handful of them taunting the shop owner while the others shamelessly take whatever they’d like off of the shelves.

At one point, the owner tries to stop one of the youths from stealing what appears to be a soda and a bag of chips. But that kid is bold af and just warns, “Don’t touch this. Don’t touch this. This is mine now.” Yeah, they’re kind of the worst.

But, uh – and I can’t believe I still have to say this – just because those kids are a–holes, doesn’t mean every black teen is. And it certainly doesn’t make every black teen a thief.

It seems pretty obvious that the course of action there should have been to try to use the video footage to arrest those specific youths… not to put up a wildly offensive sign condemning an entire race of kids for what eight shitty people did. But, here we are.

Even the local police rebuked the sign, telling 9News, “Victoria Police does not support the language of the poster and deems the message as inappropriate.” Well, that’s quite the understatement.

7 News Melbourne reports that the sign has since been taken down, but we’re going to guess the damage is already done.
