We’ve scoured the nation for the best drunk food and picked the standout spots in each state. (We recommend bookmarking this list right now, in case the struggle gets real later.

  1. Alabama: Quick Grill

  1. New York: Nick Tahou Tots Garbage Plate

So popular it’s been trademarked, Nick Tahou Tots originated the “Garbage Plate” which allows guests to choose two entrees/meats (such as cheeseburger, Italian sausage, fried ham, chicken tenders or a grilled cheese) to pile on top of two sides (like French fries, baked beans or macaroni salad). The whole thing is drizzled with hot sauce, mustard and onions. It’s fatty, decadent and amazing.

  1. North Carolina: Heavenly Buffaloes and Time Out

Due to an unsettled debate between students and alumni from UNC and Duke, we caved and decided to include two munchie recommendations. If you’re in Durham, look out for Heavenly Buffaloes, “The Wing Joint You’ve Been Looking For.” It stays open until 3am on weekends (and sometimes even later if you’re nice).

Over in Chapel Hill, Time-Out serves food 24 hours and offers in town delivery of their famous Chicken Cheddar Biscuits. Considered a Chapel Hill “rite of passage,” these jumbo sandwiches were even featured on the Travel Channel’s Man vs. Food.

Founded in the dorm room of a former University of Pennsylvania student, Insomnia Cookies will deliver sweet  treats to your doorstep until 3 am. So go ahead, Uber home and put on your PJs. They’ll even deliver cold milk to go with your warm cookies and brownies.
