ENTITY ranks Instagram theme apps.

Every Instagram influencer needs an Instagram theme. But what photo editing software should they use to get the perfect tone and color scheme? ENTITY ranks and explains the best Instagram theme apps.

1 Snapseed

This decision might surprise people. While Snapseed is certainly popular, everyone tends to go with VSCO as their favorite Instagram theme application. But here’s why I believe Snapseed is superior.

First of all, Snapseed can stack multiple filters. While using too many filters isn’t necessarily a good idea, it’s extremely nice to have this option. The smallest tweaks of different stacked filters can enhance specific elements of photos, and I find that this is extremely important in making a consistent Instagram theme.

And although VSCO has more features in general, Snapseed apparently has more features that are consistently available for Android and iPhone. VSCO doesn’t have features like double exposure, clarity and six other tools for Android even though they’re available for iPhone. The versatility of Snapseed, in my opinion, pushes it to first place.

Plus, Snapseed allows you to add text to photos, while VSCO doesn’t. So there’s that.

2 VSCO

With this all being said, VSCO is still probably one of the best Instagram theme apps out there. And depending on what type of features you prefer, it could be your favorite application like it is for so many other influencers. Their plethora of beautiful, light, specific “presets” (filters) allows VSCO users to make many gorgeous Instagram themes. Check out 50 of them in the video above.

It’s also free, like Snapseed, so that’s definitely another plus in my book!

3 Canva

Lastly, although Canva doesn’t offer a lot of features in photo editing specifically, it’s still a fantastic graphic design application. Canva is extremely well-known for being one of the most user-friendly design pages. For anyone who wants to go the distance and make Instagram borders or dividers, this is probably the application for you.

This is a very specific type of application, however, so I wouldn’t say it’s better than VSCO and Snapseed, which can apply to more social media influencers. But because of its prevalence in its field, Canva makes the list of top Instagram theme applications. It also doesn’t hurt that it’s free in the App Store.

Those are my top three Instagram theme apps, but luckily, you don’t have to necessarily pick and choose which ones you adhere to! It’s very commonplace for Instagrammers to use multiple apps at once for editing, as you can see in the Snapseed tutorial above.

So download them all and use whatever combination of filters and features work best! Have fun exploring the new theme possibilities.
