Your night-in has been cancelled, time to make the best of it – or not.

But your friends call you up and they want to go to a party. Goodbye Netflix, goodbye bed. Hello loud music, and…people. Ugh, so many people.
Look, I get it. But if your friends did drag you out of the house, here are some of the best party song lyrics to get you pumped.

Blink 182. Do I have to say anything else? Put some pop-punky angst into your step. This song should be at the start of any uneager partier’s playlist, because just like the character the lyrics describe, you’re also “reluctant” to go out. You might just do something fun or meet someone interesting…or maybe not so much. At least you’ll have something to relate to in this song—just take advice from these not-so-expert experts:

Believe it or not, Rehab by Amy Winehouse is actually on a list of 100 best party songs. Similarly to Amy Winehouse not wanting to go to rehab, you don’t want to go to this party. Even though that’s the case, maybe her groovy 2006 single will inspire you to get out of the house. OR, you can play it for your friends while you close the door and turn off your phone so they can’t pry you from the couch.

They’re probably not going to be playing this song at the party, but they might have played it in the 80s. If you’re a more mature partygoer, you might remember ‘Wake Me Up Before You Go Go’ by Wham!—and chances are, you need to wake up before you go go to this party.

Maybe you’re on the opposite side of this and you want to get your hermit-like friend dancing. Tell them to shut up and dance with you! Hermits need some extra encouragement, so if you dance with them, they’ll feel more comfortable. Don’t let them look back or sit down, get them moving! Sorry fellow hermit friends, but maybe you just need to shut up and dance. Or in any case, at least know the lyrics to this one so you can sing along.
