If this is the first time you’re hearing about this, though, then you’re in for a treat. You’ve come to the right place.
But before we reveal which celebrities are using this addicting toy, let’s first see who created it.
Large publications like The New York Times, The Guardian and TIME, have all named Catherine Hettinger as the creator of the toy currently taking the world by storm. There’s even a Wikipedia page dedicated to her.
However, The Guardian reports that Hettinger isn’t getting any money from the companies who are creating fidget spinners. In fact, she says that when she first heard about the her Wiki page, she assumed one of her friends had made it. And it seems like she still doesn’t know the person behind it.
Regardless, even if Hettinger didn’t create the fidget spinner we know of today, but she did create a similar concept back in the day.
She says she first began brainstorming the idea of a fidget spinner back in the 1980s. Hettinger originally wanted to create something that would distract children – something that would comfort and relax them. “It started as a way of promoting peace, and then I went on to find something that was very calming,” she told TIME.
However, Bloomberg Technology recently examined Hettinger’s “classic spinner” and the report shows that her invention has nothing to do with the fidget spinners of today.
But regardless of who was the brains behind the idea, we can all agree fidget spinners are the hottest trend in 2017.
Fidget spinner prices are relatively low, depending on the design you choose. And trust us, there are hundreds to choose from. They can go from as cheap as $3 or as expensive as $26. You can buy a fidget spinner on Amazon, Ebay and Etsy.
Honestly, though, you can probably find a fidget spinner in every store at this point.

She walked out with a bright green spinner and it seems like she’s having a lot of fun with it. But then again who wouldn’t? It is a fidget spinner after all.
Another star making big moves with the fidget spinner is Millie Bobby Brown.
The “Stranger Things” star posted a video of herself on Instagram with seven fidget spinners on her. Pretty freaking rad if you ask us.
During an interview for her newest movie “The Book of Henry,” Maddie Ziegler couldn’t help but admit she loved fidget spinners.
Her co-stars may not feel the same way, but she’s definitely not alone.
Like the rest of the world, the fidget spinner is the hottest new toy that we can’t seem to get our hands off, no matter how hard we try.
The actress has expressed her love for fidget spinners on her Instagram. She’s even posted Insta stories of her using her fidget spinner in almost every location she goes to. And like Kendall, her fidget spinner is bright green, too.
