ENTITY shares a holiday playlist with songs from Demi Lovato, Fiona Apple, Pentatonix, The Killers, James Corden, Carpool Karaoke and Mariah Carey.

Aside from the presents, decorations and ugly Christmas sweaters, having a great festive playlist is another essential for the holiday season.

And while there are Christmas classics like Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” and Bing Crosby’s “White Christmas” to always enjoy, sometimes you need new songs to liven up the party. This year, plenty of artists – from pop to rock to indie – have released fun holiday music.

So if you need help putting together an upgraded collection of seasonal songs, there’s a little something on ENTITY’s holiday playlist for everyone.

1 Demi Lovato

Demi Lovato, who recently announced that she would be taking a break from the spotlight in 2017, gifted her fans with a going away present – this chilling new cover of “Silent Night.” In this minimalistic production, Lovato sings over a piano, leaving room for plenty of vocal runs. According to the pop singer, this is her favorite holiday song. And while fans are praising this rendition, they’re also left wanting a full holiday album already.

2 Pentatonix

Acapella group Pentatonix recently released their 2016 Christmas album, “A Pentatonix Christmas,” which climbed to No. 3 on the Billboard chart and has sold over half a million copies. And if you thought the acapella renditions of holiday classics were already aca-awesome, the group teamed up with Lego and a virtual reality company to deliver some extra holiday cheer with a 360 video version of “Up on the Housetop.”

3 The Killers

For the past 10 years, The Killers have released an annual holiday single to benefit (RED), a charity that Bono co-founded to help eliminate AIDS in Africa. This year, however, the alternative-rock band surprised fans with a full Christmas charity album, “Don’t Waste Your Wishes.” The Killers softened their sound to fit the Christmas vibe for some songs such as “Christmas in L.A.,” but overall the album adds some edge to traditional holiday music.

4 Fiona Apple

For those of you who are recovering from the results of the electoral college vote or just need some political humor during the holidays, indie artist Fiona Apple has an original for you. She initially debuted “Trump’s Nuts Roasting on an Open Fire” on her Tumblr account, but it got such traction online that she also sang it for a Standing Rock benefit concert. Apple’s timely comedic rendition of this holiday classic includes plenty of jabs at the President-elect. And depending on the political atmosphere of your typical holiday gatherings, you may or may not want to sing this around your family.
