Here’s a question we never thought we’d ask: Can President Donald Trump tell the difference between a photo of rapper Tyga and prominent American abolitionist Frederick Douglass?
Seems like it should be a no-brainer for the most powerful man in America, but following a listening session POTUS held to honor Black History Month — in which he spoke about well-known black leaders such as Martin Luther King, Jr., Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks and Frederick Douglass — the American people aren’t so sure anymore.

Here’s why. When Trump spoke of Douglass he said the following: “Frederick Douglass is an example of somebody who’s done an amazing job and is being recognized more and more, I have noticed.”
Which begs the question, does President Trump not know Frederick Douglass died — in 1895? After all, when speaking on Harriet Tubman and Rosa Parks he used the past tense. Douglass not so much. Instead he acted like Douglass was still out and about fighting slavery and stuff, and finally getting the attention he deserves.
Of course folks on Twitter had a field day with the bizarre comments.
“You could show Trump a photo of Tyga, tell him it’s Frederick Douglass and he wouldn’t flinch,” @dstfelix tweeted.

Twitter user @kwogfaf hilariously pointed out Trump is either really ignorant or completely unaware of what century we’re in.
So, uh, either Trump thinks Frederick Douglass is alive today or he just thinks we’re in the 1800s. . . . https://t.co/qvqD4tG3fT

But wait there’s more.
But seriously, Trump thinks Frederick Douglass was like the first black mailman or something https://t.co/hzPeJUDKL3

Sorry, Frederick Douglass.
