Entity reports on what it means to dress like a woman.

President Donald Trump is once again under fire, and this time it’s for the way he tries to control women’s attire.

“Trump likes the women who work for him ‘to dress like women,'” a source who worked for Trump’s campaign told Mike Allen, former chief political reporter for Politico. “We hear that women who worked in Trump’s campaign field offices … felt pressure to wear dresses to impress Trump.”

After this article published on Axios went viral, many social media users took it upon themselves to criticize Trump. The hashtag #DressLikeAWoman immediately began trending, arguing that dressing like a woman doesn’t always mean wearing a skirt and heels.

There’s nothing wrong with being the type of woman who likes to be a boss in high heels and a pencil skirt. And there is no one way to “dress like a woman.” So for anyone still wondering, here are five other ways to #DressLikeAWoman.

1 Military Women

Just because you ditch the heels to strap on some combat boots doesn’t mean you’re not dressed womanly enough. Thanks to the olive green camouflage design, army combat uniforms are easily recognizable. But aside from standing out, women’s uniforms have been designed to make it easier and safer to do their jobs.

Recently, previously unisex uniforms were redesigned with the shape of women’s bodies in mind. They were adjusted to be better fitting to avoid extra baggage. Body armors were also remade to come in more than just three sizes in order to avoid constricting arm movement while shooting. “Better fitting uniforms and body armor allow the soldier greater mobility and better comfort which in turn provide superior endurance and better job performance. That helps them perform their mission,” a Program Executive Office (PEO) soldier told Stripes.

Illinois’ own Senator Tammy Duckworth is an Iraq War veteran and was one of the first Army women to fly combat missions during Operation Iraqi Freedom. And in the 23 years she served in the Reserve Forces, she proudly dressed like a woman fighting for the nation’s freedom.

2 Police Officers

As Tara Wildes points out in her highly retweeted post above, male and female officers wear the same uniform because they perform the same job of protecting civilians.

The dark navy blue shade officers wear today makes an officer harder to see at night, which makes it easier to sneak up on criminals. And whether or not this actually works, one report found that many officers feel safer with dark shirts on at night and that the perception of feeling safe is just as important as reality.

Also, after the terror attacks on September 11, 2001, the uniforms shifted from a casual look to a military feel – combat boots, gear, tactical vests and night vision goggles. Now, these outfits are meant to offer extra protection from any situation they encounter.

3 Doctors

When you’re busy saving lives in the emergency room, you don’t have time to worry about floral dresses and high heels. Doctors are instead sporting medical scrubs, which are very important to ensuring safety and efficiency.

For starters, medical scrubs now come in various colors as opposed to the traditional white uniforms doctors once wore. This is because white surroundings, bright lights and white uniforms can cause eye strain to the surgeon and staff, reports Health Table. Thus, medical scrubs are now worn to reduce eye fatigue, making it easier for surgeons to perform their jobs.

Scrubs are also made of fabrics that are comfortable, which helps the long hours medical professionals have to work. In addition, scrubs are more durable than other clothing types and are designed to be as sterile as possible. Research shows that bacteria can easily be passed from clothing to clothing, so it’s important that scrubs can withstand being thoroughly cleaned in order to properly disinfect them.

Lastly, scrubs help patients feel more comfortable. Traditional all-white uniforms can be intimidating, especially for children. So, wearing something that is loose-fitting, comfortable and colorful helps ease any worries that patients may have.

4 Astronauts

Spacesuits may look cool, but they’re worn for more reasons than to simply look awesome. According to NASA, the space suit is kind of like a small spacecraft and protects astronauts from the dangers of being out in space.

The suit is created to protect astronauts from getting too hot or cold while allowing them to breathe oxygen while working in space. On top of that, the suits hold water to prevent dehydration. The suits even have gold-lined visors to protect eyes from the sun’s bright rays.

And in order to do all this, spacesuits are comprised of many parts. One part covers the chest, another covers the arms, other parts cover the astronaut’s legs and feet and the helmet protects the head. Astronauts also carry backpacks to hold the oxygen and and supplies electricity needed to power the suit.

All in all, these suits protect astronauts from the cold, radiation and low pressure in space. Without spacesuits, astronauts would quickly die in space.

5 Athletes

Whether you’re an Olympic fencer or a record-breaking professional tennis player, the clothes you wear affect your performance as an athlete.

If your sport is outside, your clothes should adequately protect you from the weather. On hot days, loose clothes allow air to cool your body and evaporate sweat and light colors reflect the sun’s rays. During the winter, layered clothing with ventilated openings can help regulate body temperature.

Also, when picking clothes to work out in, athletes have to make sure it doesn’t constrict movement. Choosing the right outfit allows women to perform the exercise correctly, comfortably and safely, says Livestrong. Wearing a pencil skirt while trying to lift weights isn’t the best choice of clothing. When you’re performing physically strenuous tasks, you need clothes that stretch to allow you to push your body.

And for the rest of the women who work in offices and feel like they have to wear skirts, just follow Hillary Clinton’s lead as the pantsuit queen. They’re classy, clean and, most importantly, comfortable.
