“Harry Potter” spinoff movie “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” is on track for magical box office numbers when it opens on Friday – thereby guaranteeing even greater fame for its British leading man, Eddie Redmayne.

Previously best known for this Oscar winning role as scientist Stephen Hawking in “The Theory of Everything,” his role as shy hero Newt Scamander in this latest adventure from the wizarding world of J.K. Rowling looks set to make him a household name worldwide.

1 His big movie break came playing Angelina Jolie’s son.

“It was in a film called ‘The Good Shepherd’ and I’m pretty sure I was only cast as I have oversize big lips and I was playing the son of Angelina Jolie, who has amazing lips.”

2 He was a child actor.

“I started out on stage in the show ‘Oliver’ when I was 11 as workhouse boy number 43 I had one line. I can still remember it was, ‘Books you ordered from the bookseller, sir.’”

3 Stephen Hawking’s kids are hilarious.

“They told me they used their dad’s wheelchair as a go kart and they would put swear words into his voice machine and press play. This is a family living with great humor.”

4 American film sets have better food than British ones.

“Craft services doesn’t exist in England. Here you have to  drag me away. I’m going ‘My God, look at the bagel stand!’”

5 His success overwhelms him.

“It’s almost sensory overload  and almost too much to take in. I’m trying to mentally photograph it all so I can look back and remember quite how lucky I was.”
