I gained a lot, but the most important is the community I gained.
Hard skills are vital for success in any career. But friends are vital for happiness. I learned so much from the ENTITY Academy community. From SEO writing to Adobe Creative Suite and marketing, I’ve been exposed to important skills and programs necessary to take my career to the next level.
However, what I value even more than the skills I learned are the friends I made along the way. Cheesy, I know. But when you spend over 40 hours a week for 7 weeks with the same people, you get close. You get close fast.
The back table became my home. The wonderful people I spent my days with saw me at my best and my absolute worst. Through it all, we prevailed.
Amidst the stressful and challenging days, we consoled and supported each other. We sought inspiration and advice from each other. The ENTITY Academy community became a family.
While I’m leaving the Entity Mag Academy with many things I didn’t begin with, the ENTITY Academy community we’ve created is by far my most cherished. I’ve learned more from my fellow mentees than I could ever learn from a book or class. The resilience and perseverance I witnessed from my peers are absolutely astounding. I’m so inspired by their ability to find humor, joy and love in the hardest of situations.
I’ve gained so much more than a line on a resume. I’ve gained a community.
The intelligent, driven and passionate women and men I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know will always hold a special place in my heart. Not only is the ENTITY Academy community filled with some of the kindest, funniest humans I’ve ever met, but they’re also some of the most imaginative, ingenious and out-of-the-box thinkers I’ve ever encountered. I can’t wait to see all of the amazing, meaningful things my fellow mentees accomplish.
I have no doubt that the friendships we fostered will continue to grow and blossom as we advance in our careers and throughout our lives. I’m honored to have collaborated with amazing young people who strive to make the world a better place.
While I’m sad to see everyone go their separate ways, I know that I’ll always find support from my ENTITY family.
