Entity reports on the White House giving press credentials to pro-Trump blog and arbiter of fake news, The Gateway Pundit.

One step forward, two steps back. That seems to be the progress we’re making with the Trump administration.

Just as Michael Flynn, arbiter of fake news, stepped down as President Donald Trump’s national security adviser, pro-Trump, right-wing blog The Gateway Pundit gets White House access.

Hillary Clinton seemed to be celebrating the condemnation of fake news with Flynn’s resignation, cheekily reposting a tweet from one of her staffers suggesting he apply for a job at Domino’s Pizza.

The joke, of course being that Flynn’s son had helped to spread fake news of the “Pizzagate” conspiracy, alleging Clinton had used Comet Ping Pong pizzeria in Washington D.C. to run a child sex-trafficking operation.

Hillary Clinton highlighted the trouble with fake news in tweet trolling Michael Flynn.

The addition of The Gateway Pundit to White House press briefings is dangerous, seeing as Trump has publicly condemned the media on numerous occasions. Now he is actively filling the room with people that he knows will write only what he wants to be reported.

Aka, the opposite of the point of journalism. The Gateway Pundit were fervent Trump supporters during the election, and not unlike the Flynn boys, were known to promote fake news about Clinton.

Additionally, Lucian B. Wintrich – Gateway Pundit’s correspondent who resembles “Game of Thrones”‘s vicious tyrant Ramsay Bolton – has worked with Milo Yiannopoulos, the controversial editor at white nationalist publication Breitbart News who was booted from Twitter after launching a particularly horrendous and racist campaign against “Saturday Night Live” actress Leslie Jones.

Wintrich has already told The New York Times that the publication plans to “be doing a little trolling of the media in general here.” Which is especially great, given that Trump has already publicly slighted legitimate news sources such as CNN, for negative coverage.

And by filling the room with only supportive, conservative publications – and only answering their questions – Trump will have the power to control the news.

He has already begun doing so, with journalists complaining on Monday that they never got to the actual story of the day – Flynn’s status – because the pro-Trump publications the president was calling on didn’t even bother to ask.

Okay, so maybe it’s more like, one step forward, a million steps back. Bottom line is, this is bad.
