As the new “Star Wars” movie, “Rogue One,” soars to out of this world box office numbers, its star, Felicity Jones, is feeling the force of global stardom.

The British actress was previously best known for her Oscar nominated role as the wife of Stephen Hawking in “The Theory of Everything” but now she’s suddenly experiencing fame at a stratospheric level thanks to playing rebel leader Jyn Orso in the smash hit space saga which has earned over $300 million worldwide in its first four days on release.

Here are 5 things you should know about why the Force is with Felicity Jones.

1 BACKGROUND

As a child growing up in the English countryside, her journalist father made her read every newspaper cover to cover so she would be aware of current events.

2 BEGINNINGS

She made her screen debut at 12, leaving the sleepy village of Bournville to film in the big city of London with a role in British TV show “The Worst Witch.” But Felicity quit after just one season due to homesickness and had her mom call the producers to say, “She’s not coming back, sorry.”

3 EDUCATION

Felicity studied English literature at prestigious Oxford University and wrote her thesis on Virginia Woolf.  She appeared in plays there too and discovered acting was her passion.

5 PROCESS

Felicity’s unique working process is to to prepare for every acting role by creating a scrapbook for her character, cutting out pictures and quotes that would appeal to the person she is playing.

Jones is currently on screen in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” and also stars in Dec. 23 release “A Monster Calls” as a cancer stricken single mom trying to ensure her son will be OK when she’s gone.
