Entity reports that Taylor Swift released a new single with Zayn, Jack Antonoff and Sam Dew for the film sequel, "Fifty Shades Darker."

Taylor Swift is back with a surprise new single for the sexy movie sequel, “Fifty Shades Darker.”

Completely out of the blue, the pop star surprised fans with a holiday present – a song from the “Fifty Shades of Grey” follow up. Taylor’s track “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” is a duet with former One Direction star Zayn Malik. Swift also co-wrote the single with musicians Jack Antonoff and Sam Dew.

Fans have been going crazy over the song since it’s Dec. 8 release. Even celebrities such as Lena Dunham are raving about it online. Dunham, who is dating Jack Antonoff, posted a congratulatory Instagram post about the single. While her post centers on her partner’s success, she gives Swift a shout-out saying she “has never sounded more sultry.”

So why did T. Swift decide to go Darker? While she hasn’t made any statements behind her decision, The Washington Post has a few theories.

They point out that a lot of A-list celebrities – including Beyonce and Sia – contributed to the first film’s soundtrack. Swift could be after a Tony or an Oscar to complete her EGOT collection. Another humorous idea is that the singer is simply doing a favor for her bestie Gigi Hadid who is dating co-singer Zayn.

In the the single Swift sings, “I’m sitting eyes wide open and I got one thing stuck in my mind / Wondering if I dodged a bullet or just lost the love of my life.” While we don’t know which writer penned these lyrics, Swift’s words may be an ode to one of her most recent ex-loves, Tom Hiddleston or Calvin Harris.

While the song has not been released for streaming on sites like Spotify or YouTube, Swift released a snippet of the audio in an Instagram video.
