Entity shares the best video games for girls who game.

If you’re one of the #WomenThatDo who loves to game, you know that games come out every month of the year. Some are decent and some are just plain forgettable. But there are a select few that make you want to stay at home all day as you follow your character’s story and defeat each level.

Here are just a few of the games we enjoyed conquering this year.

1 “Deus Ex: Mankind Divided”

This action RPG game takes place two years after “Human Revolution”  in 2029. You return to the series as Adam Jensen, a cyberpunk-like Task Force 29 worker who wants to right the wrongs he made in the previous game. As he’s doing so, he discovers the existence of the Illuminati and tries to take them down. With a combination of an epic story and free choice, who wouldn’t want to get their hands on this game? “Deus Ex” is available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

2 “Ratchet and Clank”

This new PS4 game is a semi-remake of the original game and is based on the feature film of the same name. Similar to others in the “Ratchet and Clank” series, this game is a science fiction, action-oriented video game. As you play, you can join Ratchet, Clank and Captain Qwark as they battle to save the Solana Galaxy from Chairman Drek. According to the Playstation, this new game also allows you to take a “deeper look at the characters’ origin stories” while exploring the galaxy that features new planets and updated gameplay segments.

3 “Attack on Titan”

After the first season of the popular anime, “Attack on Titan,” this game follows the lives of three characters living in constant fear of the Titans that ravage the city. In the same style as the anime, “Attack on Titan” features copious amounts of blood and violence. Fans will appreciate the crisp animation and the eerie details on the titan’s bodies. This game is available for the Xbox One, PC, Playstation Vita, PS3 and PS4.

4 “The King of Fighters XIV”

Any fan of SNK or Street Fighter will love this new installation. The animation greatly surpasses that of previous games; it is much more fluid, with the special attacks in better definition. You can play as any of your favorite SNK fighters in the King of Fighters tournament, such as Joe, Athena or Yori. This game is available for the PS4 and you can bet the nostalgia will make the price tag worth it.

5 “Adr1ft”

If you’ve ever wanted to explore space, Suriel Vazquez from Paste Magazine says this new game “nails the feeling of weightlessness.” In this first-person interactive video game, you follow the story of an astronaut who floats through the wreckage of a destroyed space station. As the player, your job is to piece together the events of the incident and try to repair the vehicle in order to return home. “In ‘Adr1ft,’ your fingers on the keyboard work those thrusters [and] you’ll probably dance them around whenever you wind up in a corner and struggle to get yourself out of it,” says Vazquez. “And when you let go and just float, you can take a breather and marvel at the wonders of space from a perspective you typically don’t get to see.” This game is available for PS4 and Xbox One.

6 “World of Warcraft: Legion”

A much anticipated expansion of the already incredible World of Warcraft universe, “WoW: Legion” is an epic game worthy of acknowledgment. The game’s website writes, “The Tomb of Sargeras has been reopened, and the demons of the Burning Legion pour into our world. Their full, terrifying might is fixed on summoning the Dark Titan to Azeroth – and they’ve already located the key to his return.” In this game, you fight demon hunters and play with others to defend Azeroth. This game is available for Mac and PC.

7 “Kirby: Planet Robobot”

Don’t let the pink colors and cute characteristics fool you – Kirby’s newest sci-fi adventure focuses on saving the world with flamethrower arms and buzz-saw hands. Although this game is available for just the Nintendo 3DS, Garrett Martin from Paste Magazine argues that the new Kirby game “sucks up everything good about the [recent Kirby games] and assimilates those traits to make itself stronger.” Get your hands on this game to experience Kirby’s new abilities to inhale enemies and fight enemies with icy breath.

8 “No Man’s Sky”

Available for PC and PS4, “No Man’s Sky” is a first person perspective adventure game set in an infinite procedural-generated universe. The game makes all your daydreams a virtual reality. As an astronaut of sorts, your character moves about exploring each new planet and solar system. As with any adventure, you must be vigilant. With its beautiful and lush planet worlds and submersion of realism, “No Man’s Sky” is worth the wait.
